PoE leaving its hardcore niche and turning generic
They arent going to remove cruel before the addition of act 5, so for the love of god stop fucking suggesting it.
As for squishing numbers they can but not entirely sure its necessary, in the realm of actually what matters, if players have 25% less damage and they reduce monster damage by that much its essentially the same as leaving it alone, with maybe some of the weaker builds suffering in certain ways, but most builds overall getting better because the monster life is the same, but the threat is lower. In terms of new monsters, those typically come with additional content like acts and stuff. They did briefly mention something like having super whites or something in packs, that can use various skills and present more of a challenge. In terms of added life nodes, I would need to see the versions of the tree, but im fairly sure the passive tree as a whole doesnt have really any more life nodes then it did in the past. They might have made it more apparent via certain paths, but thats not the same as adding just raw life nodes. Look at the % comparison picture that shows each area of the trees life, you'd be surprised its not really all that different. Evasion builds are simply weaker then in the past because the removal of EC on CWDT, but now there is blasphemy, so you can put warlords mark on there and get endurance charges that way. Evasion is mostly fine, ranged is ok, melee is weak, but pretty much always has been. The addition of things like basalt flask is a massive buff to evasion physical damage mitigation. The life % is high enough on the right side of the tree, players simply refuse to path to it. Like the evasion\life wheel in ranger area over by the socket off to the side or by spending the 1 point on attackspeed to get into the duelist 3 life nodes as well. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

" You don't play D3 do you, last season was 3 support characters and 1 tornado wizard. So yeah PoE for sure has more builds then D3 ever will. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

"Never said it did. But you seem to think your vision of the game is the right one. I'm telling you there are other visions of the game. And the fact that you think there are more builds in D3 than PoE makes it sound like you haven't tried playing very many builds and just went to the meta OP build and never looked back. I like the way GGG is doing things. Occasionally having 3 month periods of easily available loot is fun. People get to try things they weren't able to easily before. @OP, I agree with most of it. Too bad the "hardcore" players are a minority by now.
[s]only mindless sheep think labyrinth is OK to have in PoE.[/s]

" This actually made me laugh out loud. Thanks, forums don't do that very often! Let me give you precious little flowers a breakdown of GGG's likely thinking. People playing 100 or more hours a week comprise, I can only suspect but I think it's a fair guess, 0.1% of the playerbase. Probably less, let's be honest, most people don't really aspire to being a professional seat shiner. The game now suits those players less because the extra hours they're putting in per week don't given them a massive multiplicative power advantage. Don't disagree with that. Perhaps they're twice as powerful as a player doing 10 hours per week, rather than 10x they would have been previous to drop changes and ascendancies. However, as others have said, and this is very, very key to consider *the league has the best retention rate of any league ever*. Connect the damn dots. GGG is doing what any smart company would do. Why not cater to you? Because giving a taste of fun to the wider playerbase and then taking it away would be the dumbest thing any company could do (you were already having fun, you're just now having a bit less but let's face it, they already got you addicted). Potentially cutting the playerbase back isn't going to be winning in the bank account stakes. Let me just pull at Goetzjam here and just say 'nah, not gonna happen'. ;) Man up and play 200 hours per week ya cazhuls! |

" PSST... They always were. (assuming people agree with the bizarre definition of "hardcore" being "spend way more time doing the exact same thing" in any case btw) |

" Yeah, I am sure they're having a ton of new players and those players are playing for longer. I do think that there are a lot of problems with the way the game is going that isn't just going to affect the 1%. Even people who don't play very much can easily get their character to a stage where its not worth spending more time on it, and that's a problem. Like I said in my main post, my friend who is brand new to this game and the genre hit level 90 and had basically as good gear as he could get without spending 5 ex a piece to upgrade. I used to play a lot more than he does now back in older leagues without getting past level 85 and being nowhere near that kind of gear. You might not notice an issue with it this league, but as i've said before, the problems might show up where people get tired of getting to that end point quicker and quicker each league in the future. We can never expect the game to be catered fully to the 1%, thats not how things work. But the crazy thing is that PoE used to do that. Back when the game was new, tons of people started playing it because of how different it was to other easier games. Not because things were given to you if you just played a few hours a week. |

" Im sitting at 40/40, khm, nothing to do really. I have few ideas what i can try on my alt character and it will take me like a week to test, may be 2 more weeks to play. If you now ask me why im not even 100 yet - matter of time which i basically dont want to spend at this point, simply because game is too easy now and i can get to 100 without problems if i wanted to. Just like OP said uniques drop here and there even if you run 0/0 iir/iiq and i never played iir for long really, but on this league i have dropped 8 treasures already, made few 6links and chanced some nice items. I really regret the fact that i found this game so late when all the casual changes were on the way, i started playing it in the warbands and it was actually fine for the first weeks before this "rare uniques drop buff" came out. Im not here to brag or blame casuals, i didnt achieve anything special in this game so far, but even for me it feels so casual nowdays to drop 2 shavs and find 3 of those on cadiro during a month into the league - keep in mind i dont have any iir gear on. Also not to mention one of my friends just killed uber in a week and quit this league for good, simply because there is nothing else to do for him. I do realize that everyone has their own personal goals and thoughts what they want to achieve, but this isnt even a game i have started to play few months ago, not even comparing expirience players had 2-3 years ago. |

" This is a problem in every game nowdays, everything is casual friendly and not challenging at all, i would rather just download some older game and play it solo rather than play one where everything you can get takes no time to accomplish. For example i was happy to get 5l on a rare armour because i just found an upgrade after a week or two. Now there is no way i would do such a shit simply because you can buy 6l ilvl100 and roll it with 200-300 chaos to appropriate level of stats which would match what you aim for. 3-4ex to buy the 6l base plus 200-300c is nowhere near to 1.5k fus to complete 6l on the rare chest you just found. Time goes on, game is casual driven and the only factor that would change it - ask for monthly fee to maintain the servers and all the work around the hardcore features, we elitists would have to share the bills if we dont want to rely on casual wallets. Simple as that and nothing to do with that. Последняя редакция: badlurker#0854. Время: 14 апр. 2016 г., 17:15:38
