How would you feel if all Leech was changed to flat values

I.e. they would be like Life Gain on Hit, but follow those crazy leech rate rules by default, apply to ES via Ghost Reaver, etc.

"Leech 1000 Life with Attack Damage"

"Supported Skills Leech 345 Life"

Etc.

I know GGG probably would never do it but

How would you guys react?

BTW this is how D3 "solved" the issue of leech allowing scaling damage to also scale defense

D3 solved the issue of leech by making it completely fucking useless unless you stack it on every item slot and attack several thousand times per second ^^
I'd rather they flatten the damage scaling to not be hit for 1 damage and then hit for 100,000 damage. Leech isn't the issue, it's having enough health to survive some random hit that one shots you out of nowhere. Even on telegraphed boss hits, you shouldn't have damage scaling as high as it is now.

Instead make monsters actually do something than zip to you and attack.

D3 was light years ahead in mechanical game play. Yeah they had sets and specific builds, but none let you spam a mouse button and a single keyboard key to run through the game. Even the original M6 was gutted so you couldn't let your sentries do all the work while you ran around avoiding stuff. And GGG has a specific node on the tree to do just that. You literally do 0 damage and offload everything to your totems.

You didn't even play D3 to make a statement like that. They tuned their game to not let players hide behind leech. In PoE that's about all you do. Stack a boatload of health, stack a boatload of leach, win the game.

Flat leech just moves the scaling issue to a different stat, namely hit rate. In PoE hit rate varies from about 1/sec (flameblast; it takes about one second to reach full stacks unless you have insane cast speed) to 100+/sec (ice storm; 10+ stacked storms producing 10 icicles per second). If the leech values were balanced for the slow skills, fast skills would provide absolutely insane leech. If they were balanced for the fast skills, leech would be useless with slow skills.

That one funny hp flask in D3 with 30s cooldown didnt (unique! :) gave much other choices than to get some flat gain or hp regen :). I was too greedy for dps that I was running one jewel for hp regen only :). Yes, that was quite cheap what they did to hp gaining abilities :).

In high lvl rifts you are not able to gather so much dps, fights are pretty long...

That's true I forgot D3 had a craptonne of hidden coefficients

In every g solo rift there's always a meta that can completely decimate things it doesn't matter or you can do the basic support + group thing as usual meta still works.
