How would you feel if all Leech was changed to flat values

If they did that they'd have to implement proc coefficients like in D3 or it would be insanely imbalanced.

I.e. they would be like Life Gain on Hit, but follow those crazy leech rate rules by default, apply to ES via Ghost Reaver, etc.

"Leech 1000 Life with Attack Damage"

"Supported Skills Leech 345 Life"

Etc.

I know GGG probably would never do it but

How would you guys react?

BTW this is how D3 "solved" the issue of leech allowing scaling damage to also scale defense

wouldnt making it a flat value just be making it a carbon copy of life on hit? i mean you are calling it "leech" but if it is always a flat value its the same thing as life on hit which gives you a flat value every strike.

D3 solved the issue of leech by making it completely fucking useless unless you stack it on every item slot and attack several thousand times per second ^^

You didn't even play D3 to make a statement like that. They tuned their game to not let players hide behind leech. In PoE that's about all you do. Stack a boatload of health, stack a boatload of leach, win the game.

thats true. as i recall in D3 leech was completely removed after RoS. that wasn't enough for the devs though. they nerfed it too. so that after 60 it wouldn't work at all even if you DID have it on. the entire goal behind that being the rapid inflation of damage was causing "%dmg leeched as life" to be an all powerful stat that was mandatory.

Nah it would still have its differences like I listed at the start of my post that you quote

Life Gain on Hit is instant, Leech follows leech rate rules by default
Ghost Reaver converts Life Leech but not Life Gain on Hit

Then I'm just going to go a burst DPS build and kill everything before it hits me exactly like D3 does.

In high lvl rifts you are not able to gather so much dps, fights are pretty long...

In every g solo rift there's always a meta that can completely decimate things it doesn't matter or you can do the basic support + group thing as usual meta still works.

What you think I didn't play D3 or some shit? LOL here let me visit forums right now and uh lets see the top classes right now lets go cmon

last 2 metas in d3 before i quit it for good were 1 sorc and 3 bobbos that suppor the sorc with corner bug abuse.

another meta was 1 wd 1 sorc 2 bobbos supporting.

grp play in d3 is truly sad compared to poe where you´ve the exact same thing except with way more lag and performance issues.

so when it comes to grp play . d3 wins hands down but at everything else it loses hard.
I believe I quit when it was monks that were the fucking shit like uh last seasons was support monk and a shatter monk old seasons ago it was hilarious.

Since when does I_NO double post lol

When I started really playing D3 Monks were hands down the worst class. Then they became one of the best. Then I got bored and quit

What I really got amused at was when they reached GR100 using The Anvil or whatever. Lol what did you think would happen with stupidly high enemy HP and a Crushing Blow mechanic???

All yalls are making me miss D2

D3 was light years ahead in mechanical game play.

???
D3 was light years behind in mechanical gameplay.
You as the player weren't able to play with half of those mechanics as they were ultimately kept out of the players grasp.

The lack of customization was in my opinion the worst part of D3.
If you nerf leech and reduce mob damage then player defenses will be enough to survive end game and this is the last thing GGG wants.

Though leech may be "a" problem, it isn't "the" problem. Over-tuned "surroundings" making leech a necessity, is the main problem.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
