I know, but hitting hard AND fast can make a difference offensively and defensively. Taking down a boss quickly while being able to tank is pretty much the thing in PoE. Having one will put you in a bit of a hard spot, but still doable. Having none.....time to respec. BV pretty much gave you the whole package with little to no effort.




I actually have a WI Berserker build (using SR + cwc + IS interaction too) as well, but went life route since I do not got proper ES gears to make the conversion. Either way, I really like the build. :D

the point is that multiple instant leech builds can tank 3-4 of these balls without much sweat

take away instant leech from those very builds, and try that, and suddenly you cant tank them. magic !

and ofc you have people in here saying blatantly false things and accusing others of lack of knowledge, and these same people are *suddenly* nowhere to be found when proven wrong

I am starting to question more if GR is the problem and not VP. As much as I want a heavy drawback in VP just for ES, GR would be better to get the nerf. However, if GGG happens to buff life to get closer to ES, maybe not too close, than VP might as well get the nerf bat.

VP is the disease. All of these ultra high ES builds can't simply facetank with the "common" leech rates, and this changes it all.

If GR gets removed/reworked, they have to add quite a lot of "faster start of ES recharge" nodes all around, to compensate. Could be. The side effect will be pretty fragile builds in a fast paced game, thus anything different than totemers/offscreen skills will be pretty hard to play as ES.

Anyway there are just a few life based builds taking VP, and having in mind this node caused troubles since day one of its implementation, having multiple reworks and relocations, it should better get simply deleted for good.

He's right tho. The only thing that makes ES better is that you can get more of it. Other than that, Life has more pros than ES does.



Oh is that all? Like usually 2 times EHP in most builds is pretty huge. Like survival vs non survival. Who cares about flasks and stuns when u can get one shot? ES builds are infinity better when this is occuring.

Ur wrong and remove vaal pack ES is even more go to because not only has best EHP has best recovery rates especially occultist.

I had a video up no VP no GR face tanking shaper but gone now. Basically yeah your dead wrong . With a ES fat sink and wicked ward you dont need VP or GR. So your clever "idea"would only kill life builds even more

Snorkle: Evasion is not okay. I got hit with 8k INSTANT damage on attempting to corrupt an essenced mob today, then it hit me for 9.5k a bit later on. I survived of course because I've given up on life and gone for life times two. Fuck evasion, if you don't have a big life pool you're dead. In softcore you will just eat shit every X maps. Play hardcore with that thinking 'evasion okay versus most hits but not all' and you're gone.


It's the one-hit mechanic and instant leach that causes these problems.

The idea with evasion builds is: have high enough evasion and a decent life pool. If you get hit, you'll have to retreat (run zigzag like a little lamb) behind the next corner, and recover there - and come back again. You are fast to be able to do this

The idea behind armor is to take a few of these hits, before retreating. You are slow, so fire up something like a temporary immunity to cover a retreat.

You are a mage - so you have ES. Lots of ES. You'll eat every hit since you can't evade and haven't armor, but phase / teleport / etc. every one and then out and come again.

That's the principal idea behind these archetypes versus very strong opponents - and are disabled by the oneshot mechanic with instant leach.
