Bad mechanics and player retention -core mechanics that need a major rework
I don't aim for dropping all the unique items in a week..
But when I find mostly crap uniques for nearly 500 hours it makes you think.. I really love ARPG's, I love farming and hoping for a crazy rare item to drop.. But when I play and play and play and play and only get currency so I can buy those ultra rare uniques, it makes me wander if I play some card trading game.. |

Having higher player numbers does not make the game "good", it means more people are playing it.
Increased numbers could mean more people are enjoying it, sure. But it could mean that more people are running bots or more people are playing it out of habit while not really enjoying it, lots of reasons. Following that line of Logic, Diablo 3 has earned 10X (at least) the sales and revenue so that makes Diablo 3 10X better? And every game mechanic 10X better? I would think not. GGG has stuck to their Vision and for the most part have developed a really cool game. It still has some warts though. It's not perfect. --- Dsync isn't "gone", it's different. The new Dsync roots your character in one spot until the server catches up and then the game goes Benny Hill and catches you up at hyper fast speeds. And if you happen to be sitting on a trap in the Lab at that moment, well, it sucks to be you, game over Player 1, try again Player 1? --- The "trade system" is pretty much identical to Diablo, a game that is 15 years old. Sure an external company has released a Listing site, but that's not part of the game, it could disappear tomorrow for all we know. The "trade system" requires the two parties to be in the same instance in the same league online at the same time, and not running Lab or Maps. Pretty sad in this day and age to be forced to do it EXACTLY the same way as Diablo 2 did it. I suppose it's better than not even having the trade button and being forced to drop the items on the ground at the same time. And if GGG wants to waste their bandwidth pushing the Cesspool that is Trade Chat out to all of their clients all the time, it's their money. Same goes for their Trade API (which was part "1" of their trade improvements, wonder when part "2" will ever come), they could implement something in game and stop pushing out TERRABYTES of info (which they are paying for). RNG is a wonderful, magical God, but you can push it too far. Psychologically speaking I would suggest that dropping L1 Uniques in L70+ end game zones is demoralizing and ends up depressing people to some extent. Generating items with conflicting stats is sort of dumb, even the D3 guys figured that out. Putting 1 ranged and 1 Caster and 1 Melee attribute on the same item makes instant garbage. Crafting mechanics that make your item worse isn't the greatest. Get a 5Link and your next attempt will invariably be worse. Note that I am not suggesting instant 6L's for everyone. Linking should never get worse, stay the same or get better, adjust the odds accordingly. As a longer time player, when I play for days without getting a significant drop, and my crafting attempts make my items worse, and I am not able to buy anything, I start to feel like I am not making any progress, or I am actually moving backwards. So my contribution to the population is a login to do my Dailies, run a few maps, and my 15 minute game time helps to contribute to the "Rising Population". Последняя редакция: RockGod#3177. " Exactly, and having a 5L automatically stops your progress to try and 6L because you will go back, and if it's your only armor/weapon makes for a really dumb crafting mechanic.. |

I hope none of the feedback in this threads OP is taken seriously by the devs, it seems to be written by some new age gamer who doesn't want challenges and wants everything to be as easy as possible.
Please do not dumb down and make the game easier to please these type of people. |

" Trading is already easy enough and game breaking. You can buy your way to t16 maps/shaper in a week of playing just by trading, something that would take nearly the entire league to do playing normally non-trading for most players. Trading is too powerful and easy, and that isn't good enough? Do you people honestly want a "buy me full bis gear and give it to me immediately" button in game? |

" But why hand it immediately? A cool minimum of 24-48 hours to trade for offline items would be a fair start, not to mention the same delay when reposting them on market - yes, I am bothered by scamming and flipping as they are now, a time delay of up to a week would even seem reasonable for trading items (start with 24/48 hours for cheaper items and go for 7 days on the expensive ones). Make the system automated to encourage asynchronous offline trading, insert a cost for keeping the item available, add a request to buy/sell at certain price and the market will actually feel more like a market and not a "pissing blind towards WC" contest. You would have to do your homework just as now, but having access to information wouldn't make you instantly able to "ROFL STOMP" over content, as access to items is delayed in a more balanced way. Add a tab on the noteboards regarding trades, keep dedicated trade chats for those that want to use the "old ways" and profit. Everyone gets their trade, but also has to start being responsible about it... PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"...
Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days... |

I will spill some bad blood.
1. I don't answer to all trades. At some stage i stop trading for peanuts while retaining the 1c stash tabs active. Sux to be you if you want my stuff. 2. I killed Shaper with 5.5k life. That's not a big pool. I had to move and dodge but it's ok, i am not mechanically lazy. For HC you have to wage your power of do stuff for power to take on your mistakes. Bigger pool helps in this. 3. I don't craft stuff other than randomly threw like 400c on a shield because I got bored. Contrary to GiGiGi stategy not to add more BiS uniques, they do add uniques that are from 90% fine for end game which is enough. No need to craft. 4. 6links are expensive If you go for particular unique, but GiGiGi added couple other ways, like Tabula (15c, which is like 40m - 1h doing crappy uid recipe), the new Breach chest that is actually viable. Yes, going for 6L for unique that has no reselling value as a 5L is expensive, but tough life. You can farm 1500 fuses and then do Vorichi craft, it's a GOAL, not an excuse. 5. Lab is mechanically Ok. I've been running with Vaal pact (no regen) char for a while and it's OK, getting special need character that can ignore everything could be called a mechanic failure, but it kinda gives opportunity to make some unusual shenanigans in PoE --------------------------- What i called bad mechanics - random deaths by volatile - ugly ugly deaths with AoE maps that will get you half screen over , hard to avoid, hard to counter even with all counter measures applied correctly. Some will just pop you like a fly with 10k life/ES . bigger visual & delay on explosion would be nice. - BSOD / random DC deaths - even on SC, when grinding 90+ the xp loss on DC is sucky. Net code counter measure at GiGiGi side needed. Shotgunning -> AoE Overlaps -> ??? - i wonder what's next, gigigi purposely nerfing stuff from time to time. Overlapping AoE makes more sense than shotgunning (not really, taking into acount the feel of certain spells and graphical element). _____________________ TLDR - play game to have fun and don't think about it. Don't compare yourself with others unless you want to win and anyway it's pointless because too much RNG and too many nolifers. Want 40/40 ? Go ahead and spend your youth getting shiny pole. Otherwise, only what matters is if you had fun along with it. I represent only myself, my own thought and believes. I am individual, not a representative of the community.
I am not speaking on behalf of someone else and I don't get offended by things that have nothing to do with me. 3.13 was the golden age. |

"Why? And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.
