New to POE, really enjoyed the thorough break down of how the different components of the build work. While I'm still digesting it, I am curious - how feasible is it to replace the spells in this build? For example, if you wanted to try using arc, crackling Lance, or storm brand as your primary damage skills instead?

... What about a more extreme change, like eye of winter?

Hi, welcome to POE!

To answer your question, the defense mechanics section is general enough and can be used by any other spell caster without change.

The offensive section contains several choices only specific to lightning conduit, like orb of storm + lightning conduit combo, scaling 65% shock, etc. Even though other lightning skill might benefit from them too, but there are more effective ways to scale the damage of other skills.

Therefore, you should be able to replace other build's defensive layer with the ones used by this build, while keeping the offensive mechanics as is.

[3.17] One shot Tectonic Slam Chieftain. Great Damage and Survivability.
Good to know. Having some sort of solid foundation to build from for defense will make it easier for me to think about how to adjust to suit the offensive side, since I won't feel as paralyzed by choice to do a whole build from scratch.

Thanks!
I never was good at crafting, therefore want to clarify one thing. During body crafting flow we getting Additional Curse at point 3, but trying to get in once again at point 8. More likely I'm missing something, but it's better to be sure before proceed.
Did it and it took the t13 life :) So this one is done. I am left with boots, rings, and amulet.

The boots I messed up at my first try(got veiled suffix, so no MS) and I am not sure if I did everything right: When I apply Aisling, do I need to have some useless Prefixes? I had none (next to t1 life) and for my next try I won't have some either. Do I have to exalt the boots beforehand to get three prefixes? (current ones have t2 life, chaos res, spell supression and crafted suffix. two open prefix)

during step 3 we are getting multi-curse so we can use it to elevate the spell crit mod (multi-curse mod will be removed as a result). This is how orb of dominance works - removing an influenced mod to make another influenced mod stronger.

At later step, we are getting the curse mod back while keeping the elevated mod.

Aisling will first remove a random mod then apply a veiled mod. Our crafting process requires both removing unwanted mod and applying a veiled prefix.

The success chance for an item with no other prefix mod (what you current have) is: 1/3 * 2/3 = 2/9

The success chance for an item with one useless prefix is: 1/4 * 1/2 + 1/4 * 1 = 3/8

The success chance for an item with full prefix is: 2/5 * 1 = 2/5

In conclusion, it’s better to have full prefixes. I will update the guide with this detail.

No luck for my glove 50 eldrich chaos No Life T1/T2.
I stuck with Boot & Glove. It take time to push alising to t4.
First try i get replace suffix veil mod.
ok, kinda sorted a few things but because even though i have played the game for over 9 years, i have rarely crafted.

So i don't understand when you put

2. reforge with caster, to get either T1 spell crit, make sure there is open prefix.

3. suffix cannot be changed + reforge caster again to get additional curse. Now make sure those two are the only influenced mod. If there are more than 2, use orb of annulment to remove modifiers until there are T1 spell crit + any other influenced mod, if failed go back to step 2.

What do you mean by 'reforge with caster'? on a rare chest, magic? with transmutes etc

I would straight up buy the item, but the perfect one i need, they aint answered my pm or been online for days sadly

Amulet

For amulet, we need a str-dex amulet with +2 level, chaos res, and non-damaging ailment as well as some life.

For anointment, we will go with Inveterate to cap our spell suppression.

Crafting Instruction
Скрытый текст

1. find a non-mirrored str-dex amulet with fractured T1 chaos res. The chaos res roll depends on whether you have enough chaos res from other gears. For me, any T1 value can cap my chaos res, therefore it didn't matter. Then Scour the item to make it magic if the item isn't magic rarity.

2. Alteration + augmentation spam for +1 all skill level, this is the most time-consuming step, it will take on average 2k alterations and 800+ augmentations.

3. regal the item to make it rare, if prefix is added, annul the unwanted prefix, if failed go back to step 2. If suffix is added, then prefix cannot be changed + scour to remove the unwanted suffix. By now your amulet should be rare item with only +1 all skill and fractured chaos res.

4. multi-crafting + prefix cannot be changed + craft lightning attack damage (any tier). Then use harvest augment lightning (add a new lightning modifier and remove a random modifier from a non-influenced item) to guarantee +1 lightning level.

5. remove crafted mod, multi crafting + life + non-damaging ailment. Done.

comment: if you have lots of extra currency, you could also try getting aisling veiled life prefix in step 4, then get the cast speed suffix. But this will significantly increase the risk of bricking the item. And I don't want to go back to step 2 ever again :)

I just have to ask: Is "+1 to all skill gems" really a possible roll for a ilvl 83 Amulet as a Prefix? I put 2500 augmentations and 7000 Alterations on it (not even talking about the wasted 3 hours no one will ever return to me) and did not saw it.

Yes it's possible as i made one in about 250 alts but i guess my luck ended with amulet
