nah its pretty easy to see percentage of player base isn't happy. And while there are a lot of people playing, that doesn't really mean much. Lot of games have large player numbers a launch still end up less than postiive reviews.
Go to Act 6 town and log in various regions.
Most of the unhappy people are in act 2/3. We don't need to bend over backwards and repeat PoE1's mistakes.

Let the people who want the extreme power creep to play your sandbox game... Continue to make this special in its own way.
I mean... if i was a dev im going to target my BIGGER audience by a pretty big margin than the 5% of players who did not like poe1.. If they keep the game the way it is do you think its smart? to lose those 200-250k players from poe1 and keep at max 50k players that say they love poe2 as it sits?

patch .1 was really really good and they just needed to add more content.
patch .2 is dogwater, its not fun, combos are not good, combat is not meaningful and the loot you get in acts 2 and 3 are horrid. act 1 actually has decent loot drops..something needs to be fixed in that regard.
if they are going to keep taking the game in this .2 direction then i seriously hope they offer refunds for the support packs. this is not what i put my money on.

I agree with this post also. I really like the story, pacing, slower play style. Once ya'll have found a great way to make armor work, it'll feel much better, and I'm confident you'll fine an amazing way to do it.
Keep up the great work and please don't cater to the whiney to make it easier or faster.

UPDATE 0.2.0 : On to third character to maps (Already made all ascendancies in last ladder), 460+ hrs, having a blast. This patch really makes me feel included and having a good time with the challenge and pacing, the early updates have been good. A little disheartened by how much streamers are trying to change the game to PoE1, but really enjoying the update!
PLEASE Focus on player telemetry and make data driven decision for PoE2!

When Diablo 2 came out before hell mode was solved, if the developers listened to what people would have said we would not have a game still having lobbies immediately fill up weeks into ladder reset 20 years later. You said 100 on ruthless PoE1 would not be reached, we reached it last league.
When PoE came out, you guys had the right idea. Starting perandus/prophecy, league after league after league you kept giving too much power and speed creep by addressing the problem of "we feel weak" in the wrong way.
Stand true to your vision, there is a happy middle ground here (such as tutorials on how to get resistances, and tweaks to positioning/nodes on the tree)
This game may seem hard, but it absolutely gives you the tools you need to succeed. People want to skip the campaign, the campaign is bloody brilliant, the ascendancy trials are brilliant, nothing but glowing feedback across my guild (who is nothing but D2 and PoE vets having zero issues with the game that are non-technical like crashes, all level 85+ or in maps/waystones).
We are all long time supporters and believe you have a chance to make a game that targets us hardcore ARPG players without needing to make a Ruthless GSF like you did for PoE1.
PoE1 has the extreme zoom power fantasy skip-the-campaign style game. Nerfing Malachai on release made me really upset, I don't even wear my Awakening shirt anymore.
The new ascendancies are very well done, only small rebalances needed on some underwhelming ones and nerfs to overperforming ones. Again, player power being earned is extremely gratifying. Some are a small adjustment from feeling good.
Keep the combat engaging and challenging, and add small rebalances to skills/trees.
One of the things my guild is most worried about is the extreme fun we had reaching the limited endgame will be lost after waves of buffs and power creep like PoE1. Campaign is a rite of passage, and it's earned not given. It was this way in D2, it used to be this way in PoE1, and it is the way to keep us ARPG players engaged PoE2. Frankly, if the game released in its current state, we would still play it over anything else.
You made a fantastic campaign and game, stay true to the vision. There are many players who aren't making forum posts and instead actually playing the game.
PoE2 is amazing. Many of our guild mates who are far in the game are loving it. This is a good middle ground between what Ruthless wanted to be and a true ARPG. Please don't gut and kill PoE2 to cater to the base you are ALREADY pleasing with PoE1, that you alienated for 5-6 years of powercreep.
Group self found temporalis was one of the best ARPG experiences I've had, right next to self finding a JMod in flayer jungle.
It would be an absolute shame for you to double back on your wise decision to make a different game then just make it a reskinned PoE1. I have already clocked in 300 hours on PoE2 -- keep it slow and deliberate, adjust the endgame zoom.
There are some noteable quotes both here in the replies and in my old thread https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3398993 where I was frustrated at the devolution of combat for PoE1.

Hey man, I LOVED this post! Clearly a loving ARPG veteran who cares about the game. I’d love to join your guild; it sounds like a group of like-minded people I want to be around!
While the game still needs some work, I too don’t want to see the challenge become a trivial zoomfest. The key point I’d like to amplify is that THERE ARE PLENTY OF TOOLS to achieve what you need. Take a look at the HCSSF players, some of them are already in the level 90s! If they can do it, so can a lot of others. People just need to ask for advice, read some guides, etc. The game is still new, and not everyone has mastered it yet. Claiming that it’s too hard and needs to be nerfed because people haven’t spent the time to work things out or seek help doesn’t mean the game needs to be nerfed into oblivion.
I’m sure part of the disconnect is that the difficulty in some areas isn’t as engaging as it could be.

I agree totally, i hope they listen to people like us, as the ones currently making demands will flee for the next big hit once they get what they want. People love to bitch online about things they dont understand, and they dont stop until everything is ruined.

good post. I agree with you as a longtime D2 enjoyer that this seems like the sequel I've been wanting for that game. I like everything about it so far. there are several areas for improvement, but the core is quite perfect.

How do you do telemetry to know that loot drop sucks?
How do you do telemetry to know that early campaign sucks?
How do you do telemetry that their combo is not working properly?
By seeing that 50% of the players are using Lightning Strike? Then that will just get LS to get nerfed.
Yesterday I tried controller, and they finally fixed looting issues from controller, after years of controller complaints. Telemetry will show that controllers have no issues.
Data is nothing without proper context and interpretation. Game has it's good, it needs to be different thatn poe1, but it also has huge problems, that you can only solve by listening to players and not just by reading data.
Loot drop rate is garbage, Temporal Chain is cancer mod, levelling is very restrictive, combos doesnt even work properly, parry doesnt trigger, disengage doesnt hit. Map pathways is terrible. Flame of Solaris is garbage and many more...
