Closest thing D2 has to actual crafting is runewords. And even then some runes are really hard to find.
And some runewords are just too powerful in the early levels and make you completely trivialize the early-mid game.
And some people complain about that too.~
Which proves what I'm saying: Meaningful crafting that is not some form of RNG can't truly exist in ARPG without trivializing 70% of the content.
It gives players too much power very early.
It doesn't matter that some rune words are too powerful in early game, it's not about the power, it's about crafting.
So, your argument "crafting does not belong in ARPGs" is invalid because THE arpg has it.
If you want pure gamba, go play at a slot machine.

As it was said, exact item crafting has no place in arpg.
There could be just vendors selling bis items and its the same.
At last, its fantasy game and in its world is crafting like this, get over it.

You're being a bit intellectually dishonest here.
Yeah they have all these systems. Some of them have more deterministic rewards, but you can't actually edit the items.
Yeah you have a lot of crafting materials, but many are very hard to find and rng based. It is different than simple crafting like you are suggesting here.
PoE2 leans more to the RNG side, that is true. The only problem is that it demands just insane ammounts of farming to get what you want, compared to these other games.
And that's the problem. Not the lack of an endgame relevant crafting system.
Okay, now you're either trolling or talking about stuff you clearly haven’t experienced yourself, especially when you bring up Destiny 2 and The Division 2 and then claim "you can’t actually edit the items.”
Bro... for real?
Let me walk you through it since you called me “intellectually dishonest”:
Destiny 2
Weapon crafting exists in full. You literally unlock patterns, then craft the weapon with traits and perks of your own choosing.
Want a reload perk? Pick it. Want range? Pick it. Want a different combo later? You reforge it by spending materials.
You even level the weapon to unlock more customization. That’s not “random loot.” That’s deterministic crafting with progress-based upgrades.
The Division 2
Has a Recalibration Station where you can transfer specific stats from one weapon to another.
You farm for high-end rolls, then extract and slot them onto the gear you want.
You also upgrade gear, tweak core attributes, and even optimize it further using resources.
That's not just crafting, that’s editing your item.
So yeah, not only are you wrong, but you're confidently wrong while accusing others of dishonesty. That’s a hell of a combo.
I’ve played all those games extensively, put in thousands of hours. If you didn’t know any of that, maybe take a breath before lecturing others.
IM DONE WITH YOU

It matters because even THE ARPG was criticized for it.
And Runewords only go so far. Try beating Hell difficulty with a build that is moderately item dependant and without trade in D2... You're going to have to farm. A lot.
There's nothing in D2 that let's you edit an item at will.

No, it doesn't matter because you always find ppl who complain about anything.
Furthermore, ppl don't complain about the existence of rune words, they complain about them granting to much power early on.
Furtherfurthermore, PoE crafting is less deterministic than D2 rune words, thus that argument does not hold.
Furtherfurtherfurthermore, even if crafting would not belong in other ARPGs, it belongs in PoE, period. If you don't like ARPGs with crafting, don't play ARPGs with crafting. It's that simple.

Yep that's why I said "IIRC" in the post that I mentioned.
The other games I mentioned don't let you tweak each stats as you want.
Tbh The Division and Destiny 2 are incredibly boring and generic when compared to PoE. No wonder you are asking for an item editor here in PoE2 if actually managed to stomach 2000 hours in any of these two games.
Other important thing is that even if Destiny 2 allows for such things, the "stat check" factor has much less weight than in ARPGs for instance.
Being able to tweak items at will in an ARPG will always grant you a much bigger advantage.

Ah, the classic "IIRC" defense, "If I Recall Correctly", aka I didn’t check but I’m going to speak with confidence anyway.
maybe thats the theme of all your reply/post :)
yeah yeah, if that what i thought ill just copy paste their system and make a post about it.
i bring up destiny and division 2 since you confidently mention about it, wink wink
jeez
just stop it, you make yourself looks soo stupid, its not even funny anymore

Yes, that's what I said: People complain about runewords that give too much power early on.
And that's not a matter of "people complain about anything". This has always been a common, valid complaint.
I don't understand you last two points. Crafting as requested in this post has never really been implemented in PoE. And I think it never will since it would affect trade tremendously.

Oh no, how will trade ever recover?
Trade is done because crafting is shite. I for one would avoid trade entirely if I could craft my own items so boohoo, crafted gear would replace trading for gear.
One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.

Sincerely, idk what to say to you.
I gave like 10 examples and you only chose 2.
It is actually good that you reminded me that I am wrong and Destiny2 and The Division 2 are very boring games.
Whathever, I'm glad PoE devs don't listen to feedback of players that think Destiny 2 and TD2 are good games.
PoE and even the flawed PoE2 are still much better than these 2(overpriced) games precisely because their design pattern is different.
In the end I think the chance of them actually adding this kind of crafting is very low.
But whathever, if you want to rant on the forums, go for it.
