Remember when poe 2 was just an expansion?
" First part is called an exaggeration. It's a common thing people do What lies did they tell you? What implicit meaning is there to "supporter pack" that I'm not understanding? They do host it for you for free. You can use the server without paying for it. That's called being free. You just hate the developers at this point, they can do no right by you, so your opinion is biased and unreasonable. If you're anything like the rest of the haters, I'm sure I can expect your opinion to change once the streamers tell you its OK to like the game again Последняя редакция: Glowie_Zigger#5018. " lol also so should i say thank you or not ? i thought it was just purely business when we buy stuff in the game ? that there was no moral implication or expectation |

" These people are almost as bad as those who think the only builds viable are the ones streamers play lol |

" I said that the purchase you made was a form of "thank you" to the devs. Can you read? |

"The comparison between GGG and Blizzard was not about their monetisation, it was about "saying something and then doing something else". I mean, obviously you get something in return when buying supporter packs, but they are called "supporter packs" for a reason - to fund ongoing development of PoE. Do they technically develop PoE? Yes. But do you think all of the ppl who bought the supporter packs over the years would have spent the money to support GGG if they had said from the start that they were making PoE1 and PoE2 separate games? Probably not. Even Chris Wilson talked about the downsides of making a separate game and why they planned to make it an expansion. And giving them credit for the transfer of PoE1 MTX to PoE2 is weird. That's the bare minimum. They advertised and sold the MTX for PoE1 (PoE2 expansion), so ppl bought it for that. Not making it available because you separated PoE1 and PoE2 in two games after 4 years could lead to negative consequences. [Removed by Support]

so shit is free but i should thank them with money ok. maximum word salad.
but whatever, so supporter pack means thank you pack. nothing to do with future projects like poe 2 that needs money. whatever makes sense in your brain i suppose. |

"Yeah... some would think the name "SUPPORTER pack" would be hint enough what the purpose is, especially when GGG thanks ppl for buying these packs to... drum roll... fund future development, and not because they keep servers up. [Removed by Support]

" This is an assumption that you've made, that a supporter pack will go towards a specific path of development that you support. Even if GGG pocketed your money and ran I would say too bad so sad, like why are you even buying these dumb ass cosmetics in the first place.. but anyway.. They took your money and they continued to develop their brand, their company, their promotion, their staffing, and whatever they considered it valuable to spend it on. They did this while preserving POE1 for the people who love that game - a smart choice. They have also said that some things from POE2 will be ported back to POE1 once they have stabilized certain things between the games, so development on POE2 still is development on POE1. What's hilarious to me is that I know this concept scares a bunch of POE1 players, so its like they dont want their cake and they don't wanna eat it. They just wanna pout in the fucking corner and cry about Grinding Gear Games |

" Guy listen if you're buying supporter packs under the assumption that they entitle you to anything in return from the developers in the future, even if that's just sticking to commitments they have made, then you're not actually supporting them. Giving GGG money because you expect something from them in return is a transaction. That's just a purchase. You're not supporting them if you're doing it because you want something. I buy supporter packs when I want to acknowledge the work they have already done and all of the entertainment they have already provided me. I played PoE1 for free for years before I gave them a dime, but then I gave them a bunch of dimes and kept doing it for a long time. If they decide to take my money now and pivot PoE to a Stardew-valley style farming simulator that's for them to decide. They earned my money. I'm supporting them - not myself or my future expectations. Последняя редакция: Kerchunk#7797. Время: 20 апр. 2025 г., 03:16:05

At one point POE 2 was an expansion of POE 1
And then they decided they wanted to change the game experience enough that it no longer fit as an expansion POE 2 is not POE 1 it is a different game, a different experience, a different form of gameplay. So players should not be approaching a new unfinished game with the mindset "Why isn't this like POE 1!?" The fault is GGG's for not making a clear distinction of what this game is and treating this more as early access under development with more free resets after major updates to give the impression that: - YES THIS GAME IS STILL IN DEVELOPMENT AND UNFINISHED AND THE CURRENT GAMEPLAY MAY NOT BE FINALIZED FOR SOME TIME That concept should be hammered it constantly to treat this title as it actually is and not to mislead people into thinking of this as a POE 1 Expansion.
