GGG , changes to endgame are good. But please remove the EXP penalty on death

XP loss is already limited by the fact that you can't lose a level once you've leveled-up.

There's an added layer of strategy and risk involved in leveling up once XP loss applies on death. As long as that's made clear for us players, we can decide what we want to do about it in-game. From then on out, need to be checking gear, checking our build, making sure the map mods don't play to our weaknesses, etc.

Most of the time, it should be clear to players where they're coming up short if they're hitting a wall and dying a bunch. It's a sufficiently complex game, but there are only so many variables and stats on the player end of things.

Another aspect of the issue, I think, comes from the fact that a lot of times gen pop players are left guessing as to what just happened in an encounter that got them killed. You basically have to look at your build and gear, and make an assumption. Without actionable information from the encounter, though, character death has a much greater likelihood of feeling unjust and bad, which I doubt the designers want. XP loss compounds that feeling by adding a penalty to something when you don't even know what went wrong.

A bit more information from the encounter would go a long way for players in making the adjustments they need to succeed where they have failed.
+1

just delete it its bad

While I agree with you, if you play a build that clears a single map in 20-25 minutes and then die once every 4-5 maps, it still feels gutting. Even with more information xp loss is not the way to make people check their builds.

Very often to change your build you'll need a ton of gold, currency and maybe changing ascendancy (now that it's possible). That is not forcing you to adapt, that is changing everything that you were doing before.

Friction is out of control here.
Out of control kinda nails it. It really is. I cant control server lags and screen freezes. Cant control random oneshots without any addressing. Grenades? Never seen them before I just die. Bleed? Just estimate where it should be and run (lol). Chaos damage? Most lethal stuff in the game? Getting old I guess. Cant see it in 8/10 cases until it is too late.

Sure, I can play like a hc player....

Or I just play an arpg that is not just pretending to be for the arpg elite and is actually fun.

This youtube short is funny as hell :))))
SPOT ON
I think they should increase the EXP gain at higher levels.

It seems that we gain much less EXP than in PoE1.

No need to remove the penalty, just increase the XP gain considerably.

Can you go into a little more detail with what you mean?
Why ride a bicycle with 2 wheels? Falling is not fun. Bicycles should run on 4 wheels. After a day of work, I just want to relax, I don't want to balance myself. Having bicycle on 2 wheels doesn't make sense. Actually I don't even wanna feel pain, I don't see the point of pain. Just remove it, it's not fun. Actually, can I just smoke crack all day and not have any XP loss? I think it's fun like this. I don't see the point in this XP loss when I can feel great the entire day. I also think it's very fun having the ability to destroy, create in the world without any rules or penalty, and if something goes wrong, I'll just respawn. Also, I don't wanna go through the campaign again, aka growing up. It's not fun.
`Spent 2 mirrors on my build, but I'm only Level 98.` LOL
`From just quick sweep of your characters, toxic rain, golems .. sure, non meta... sure.` LOL
`What are divs?`

Sure, we all like a challenge. But I'm tired of wasting time & farming maps for an hour, just to die randomly to a stupid ground effect that I do not even see on my screen and my progress to be reset again with 10%....

I'm tired, I'm bored, I don't have the drive to level up anymore...
I'm tired of wasting one hour to farm EXP, then die to random things that I don't even see and loose 10%...
It's not a challenge, it's not fun. IT'S A STUPID MECHANIC THAT DOESN'T BRING CHALLENGE, ONLY BRINGS ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO WASTE TIME AND GET FRUSTRATED.

P.S: I'm running with full lightning, fire and cold resistances. My chaos resistance is at 60%

Armour is at 30% , Evasion 50% and Block is 31%
Yet i still die to random things from the ground that freeze, stuns, or oneshots me...

Your wrong. Exp penalty by definition is a challenge.
Removing it would remove the challenge from hitting level 100 and make the only factor if you have enough time to spend. The majority of us wants it to be challenging. If your mind is set that you need to hit lvl 100 (which is completely optional) and you only farm for exp and dont find it fun then your either:
A) Playing the game wrong
B) Playing the wrong game
I couldnt agree more!!!! As if our time being wasted by dying and failing the map completion wasnt enough they have to double down and also make us go back in time more and more as we level up!? After dying once at level 96 3 bars in I said fuck this and gave up on leveling. That set me back what...6 hours!!!!!???? Wtf were they thinking?!
