Losing XP on death is too much
XP loss another boring, anti-fun mechanic that the game would be better off without.
If they limited it to just XP gained in that specific map no-one could have an issue, but it's hours of play sometimes. |

" Yes, I'm sure no one would have an issue at losing 2-3 levels in one death. You people seriously have no clue how the game actually works, do you? |

" Such unnecessary anxiety and drama, hard games are bad...it can lead to suicide! then don't play difficult games, play easy games and leave us alone, holyhell... Tech guy Последняя редакция: Warrax#2850. Время: 8 сент. 2025 г., 09:32:05

XP loss needs to go, but GGG will NEVER get rid of it.
The same posts have been showing up ever since this game went into EA and very few of the issues are being addresses; we finally got asynch trading after what, 10 months and 2/3 patches? XP loss, bad loot, bad balance...over and over and GGG chooses not to listen. The only way they will listen is if people simply...don't play. Dont like xp loss? don't play Dont like bad loot? don't play Don't like only having 1 or 2 viable builds? don't play. The only way this changes is if people walk away. |

Please GGG act on this topic.
The huge XP loss on death always eats at me until I can stand it no longer and quit. In POE1 it is always the reason I stop playing a league. Please limit the loss to one XP progress segment per map you attempt and die in, (not per death so you can go again and try to learn what's killing you). Maybe have it as a setting so people can get a special award/achievement if they choose not activate it? |

" Perhaps it plays on fears and drama to establish a connection to self-harming behavior. Nevertheless, I consider your approach to be of little benefit to the health of a game. Instead of perhaps finding a compromise and looking for a better solution, you are like a stoic person who never wants change unless he sees an advantage in it. It seems, and your post shows this between the lines, that you are unable to feel empathy and put yourself in someone else's shoes. And I have a feeling that many GGG developers are like you. Instead of rewards, they want to punish and punish and punish and trigger this self-hatred in us. Sure, most of us shake it off, but some take it to heart, and saying “Then don't play it” doesn't help and shows a lack of understanding of game design. I'm sorry. But such responses to “perhaps exaggerated” comments also show a lack of certain skills. Sure, the death penalty won't kill the game as it is for now. Thats for sure. The game has so much major game design issues and the DEVs are probably working hard on them. Yet, to just toggle this off or change the numbers to 2-5%, I don't see any harm in that as well. No one can tell me that without this mechanic, it would require a lot of development effort or dampen fans' enthusiasm for the game. And to understand that a change, even not in my favor will be a benefit for all, thats some kind of skill I want to see in people. Последняя редакция: Benjaneb#5471. Время: 8 сент. 2025 г., 10:00:55

Being an old D2 player I love the xp loss. There needs to be some penalty otherwise deaths are meaningless.
They already remove map loss and xp loss for pinnacles as a compromise. It makes it so only people with actual skill at the game can reach higher levels. Removing the xp penalty removes the challenge. Just my opinion. |

" As someone who has been treated for anxiety for over a decade.... If a game is impacting your mental health, then you should probably stop playing it. I wish all my problems had a literally off switch that completely removed them from my life. |
