Warning if you get hacked GGG will do nothing to fix it!!!

The OP owes all of us for diminishing our game with his lack of care. Our experience is made worse by his mistakes. I think a dollar for each of us would be a good start.

I just wanted to clarify that we do infact investigate every compromised account that we come across. There are frequently large ban waves against these accounts and all of their associated accounts. There are many measures taken against these players, and players who have violated other serious rules. These bans are simply not advertised to the public, and for good reason.

We care very much about these situations, and are by no means turning a blind eye. It is something that we take seriously and are working on on a daily basis.

Oh. Well, color me stupid. I was not aware that was the case. Nevermind then. My bad. Everything I had read from GGG had been about how to prevent it and why there's a no-rollback policy (and one part where Chris said he lookd at them once for a couple days). Might I suggest making it clear that reported cases of account theft will be fully investigated? It would probably go a long ways towards getting players to report it if they know some good may come from it.

The no-rollback thing would be frustrating if it happened to me. Honestly, I still think it's a dumb policy. Many many other companies have found ways to do it that have not compromised their game. However, as a user who takes good care of his security, the most important part is that investigations are being made.

Carry on.

You've never used their auction house, have you?

Have to admit, I am not a fan of this policy. Just think it is a long term detriment to the game itself as it puts emphasis on an imaginary economy in a fantasy game over the misfortune of customers.

My opinion. Your mileage may vary.

The only problem is that they can't tell the difference between a unfortunate customer and someone trying to scam them into duplicating items.
Then don't freaking have your password as "Password123" or something retarded like that and stop browsing for Porn... If you want Porn go to one of the tube sites...

Learning about PC security will also greatly reduce the risk of being hacked.
Dont install bots, they have keylogger.

Also dont advertise your gear (yes, i'm talking to you trade channel people), you only make yourself a target.

Have a secondary mule account (i think most people do this) for trading/forum poasting (is it against EULA?). Keep your main anonymous.

Bex, question, what is your PERSONAL stance on restoring all of the accounts gear with some sort of "untradeable" lock on the restored items?

And is there any sort of idea or concept that GGG itself has regarding such a feature?

I know Bex answered already, but in any case, her personal view on the matter is irrelevant, as she is enforcing GGG's rules, not her own.
