Horrible lag in PoE only... offline mode
Exposing the server side code without damn good reason isnt worth it. With access to an offline mode its literally only a matter of a few hours of disassembly and memory walking till I can find every mathematical hole in thier program and exploit it. This is why they will never do this. The online mode is vastly more important to them as a business model than your own personal internet problems.

Sorry OP but I can't take you seriously. Stop comparing PoE to HoN, they both work very differently. Just read (and understand) the desync thread in the manifesto.
Synchronisation has already been improved, you rubberband faster and more often than before, looks crappy but it prevents death. Hopefully they will improve it even further. P.S. If you're desyncing 'all the time' then you are doing it wrong. You can actively avoid desync if you know what's causing it. Instead of repeatedly bashing your head against the wall rather try to avoid it. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" This is the only game I have ever seen where firstly, poor server/client syncing is such an issue for it playerbase ( and honestly, PoE is the first gaame where I experienced such significant issues and actually learnt what desync meant) and also, where its fanboys attribute the poor performance to a 'gameplay style' lol. It is similar to Apple selling phones with badly designed antennas then telling users that: 'You're holding it wrong' So, we're playing it wrong eh ? k. |

" Bullshit. Your system is doubling every frame. This kind of fps is well beyond what the human eye/brain can perceive and recognise. You aren't an orangutan. More likely you have 75fps with each frame occurring twice. |

" Huh?? My system tends to average PoE around 170fps but can get as high as 220fps. It will dip to low 70's in parties that have a lot going on. Many games have higher fps than what a person can see. Having a high fps tends to make the game smoother imo. |

" Your graphics card/monitor are doubling the fps. Every second frame is a clone of the previous, I swear. But I'm really out of touch with modern IT stuff, my education was over 10 years ago. I could be mistaken. Enjoy all those frames you can't detect. |

" Other ARPGs use this method for online as well. It's not unique to the game, it's more unique to the genre. |

" Yes I read it, and basically, they are not using a method that works in HoN and virtually every other game that requires even more precision that PoE but their own method. Their own method that leads to complete fail even when playing with 30ms latency, where as Hon is perfectly playable with ~100ms latency. If I could have HoN latency in PoE it would be infinitely better than the desync every 10 seconds method in PoE. I can't take guys who blindly defend this method simply because THEY don't have an issue wih it. Why don't GGG implement both methods and let the play choose. " The game says its running at 150 fps... whether i can detect if it is running at 75fps or 150fps is irrelevant to the point i'm trying to make, which is that my system can easily handle running the game. Everything about the game runs smoothly... except the network code which sucks. i literally have no idea what you are talking about... and i suspect you don't either. " Which games use this desync method, i would like to download and test those games and see if i get the same lag. Последняя редакция: r11na#0845. Время: 6 июл. 2013 г., 10:25:21
