I suspect why they don't implement it and IMO they don't know quite well how F2P model works.The common player pays once,twice,then stops paying and just plays for free.Ofc there are exceptions and fanboys.They are just losing money,that's what happen.


Because if they have the files client-side in order to play offline, that's all the tools they need to hack it online as well.

Maybe, but PoE is CRIPPLED by it, as it is probably 1000 times worse in PoE than in D3.

If they do not have the manpower and/or server infrastructure to build such a server side game then stop forcing the game to be server side, especially when it doesn't need to be.

Make offline an option, those who want to play online can do so and have fun with the desyncing.

Those who just want to play the game with responsive controls and without having server issues ruin the game can play offline and have their own fun, everyone is satisfied.

Seems like a no brainer to me.


I guess I'd take this more seriously if you did. If that isn't hyperbole, then there are other issues your computer or router may be having. We all get desync, but I think I've only died from it twice in the year++ and hundreds upon hundreds of hours I've spent with PoE.

Known hoax, anyone wanting to try that out can enjoy their virus.
HoN devs have already mentioned that player positions in hon are all server side, any map hack needs to trick the server into giving the client the play positions, while not impossible, involves WAAAY more effort than hacking the client, and is much easier to prevent than client side hacks.

The point I'm trying to make anyway is that heroes of newerth is a server side game, that has no desyncing issues, so PoE has no excuse.

Who cares if they hack their own offline version?
Just make offline characters only valid offline.

Problem solved.

Online only mode was always part of POEs design, but let us speculate a bit.

Offline mode, is like porting to another console. It will require the same, if not more resources as making POE from the ground up. Resource is scarce in GGG.

If some miracle resource do appear, porting the game in offline mode will give "hackers" more code to fiddle with, resulting in auto-loot, vacuum hacks, invulnerability hacks, etc.

Desync, has always been part of online gaming, due to the nature of the internet, and "acts of god".

Fixing desync, rubberbanding, lag, etc. is synonymous to fixing world hunger. The more resource you spend on it, the better it becomes; but you know what, someone is always gonna be hungry. It never goes away completely.



Instead, let us find a way to make the internet travel faster.

Ha! If only faster internet would solve all our problems. It would only create more issues here in California, infrastructure is a joke at best and costs ridiculous amounts to get a very pitiful connection. I've had some of the fastest and slowest ISP's in SoCal and have never had latency as bad, as I have in PoE. I'm talking about disconnects between loading screens >_< I have not been more into a game, that I cannot play. I really want to be working on my Marauder but cannot tolerate the DC's and desync issues. There is a part of me that wants to help out by purchasing a beta pack but at the same time, I don't even know if I'll benefit from it. An offline mode is all I ask. I'm not the only person who wants to enjoy smooth gameplay, not having to worry about lag ruining the experience. Honestly, I don't like to group with others, I enjoy solo runs without pressure, however I do love the community chats.

+1 for offline mode and faster internet speeds ( haha yeah right, not in 'murica )

welp not giving more money to GGG i diverted it to Star Citizen instead
Using XFire with POE causes major fps lag for myself as well as some others I've spoken with.
Just throwin it out there. Maybe check out what other background/conflicting apps you may have running before automatically blaming the game.
Chances are damn good that the problem is something that YOU are doing.

Thanks for the game intro, it's exactly how I found PoE, via the *ugh* Marvel Heroes forum. That was the worst game I've EVER played on any system. The server issues with MH are far worse than anything Wraeclast is dealing with but the major difference is that PoE is far superior game in every way.
