OP has a simple qualm with the game. The endgame is too stressful. Simply put after a certain point it stops feeling like a game and starts feeling like a chore. And its true. The endgame was designed to be stressful.

We want the enjoyment of leveling a new character, and we want the depth that the complexity of the game provides, but at the end of the day we also want to be able to sit down and just sort of mindlessly play the game for a bit without having to worry about our entire evening's work going up in flames because one mob pack spawned with triple damage rapid fire double flaming megadeath as their affixes and we get flattened.

Yea, maybe lose like 15 minutes of work, 20, heck, even a half hour... but not the entire evening.

Then you come on the forums only to find that the vocal minority will only attempt to stifle any discussion by posting vitriolic nonsense. I mean... really? No, really, keep stifling discussions by complaining about how nobody cares and how this or that doesn't fit your neat little idea of how something should work. Within a year of launch you probably won't have a game or a community.

Its pretty simple. You can have multiple leagues with different rule sets. Put one up for two to four months and see what happens. Especially with launch right around the corner, sort of like a welcome home league or what have you. Not any different than a double-xp weekend, except it doesn't have double-xp and it lasts four months.

The real bitch of it is that GGG has put together a really nice game with some really nice discussion forums and it seems we can't have a really nice discussion on those forums because nobody has anything to say. I mean honestly, when was the last time you saw a really nice, really focused discussion on these forums? It has been months since I've seen one, as it all gets weighed down by nonsense and then people just lose the will to post anything new or interesting because the last ten times they tried they got attacked verbally by rabid forum trolls, so you end up with thirty thousand threads about how people just spent eleventymillion fusings making a 6L Caddywhompus Sledge and absolutely no productive discussion.
