Dude, the game isnt even released yet! There is going to be monster areas with higher levels that are going to allow you to level easier. The devs have even said that reaching level 100 through maps is not what they intended... If you call yourself a "veteran" and quit the game before its even released, then I would rethink that definition. Veterans dont quit and give up, quit being a pussy..

keep on dreaming .. oh man how i hate the argument "dude, game is not even released yet!" *cry*.

its not released yet?

wait ... i can download the game for free, right? ok ... can i play the game for free aswell? yes .. can i experience every aspect of the game? yes ... can i even "buy" things with real money? yes ..

THE FUCKIN GAME IS RELEASED THEN ..

[Removed by Admin] GGG has said that they have much planned for release, so much so, that they will be giving a free respec. If you don't like the game, and you don't want to see what release has to offer, then why are you here? [Removed by Admin]

So I'm curious. Since you're bashing people for not having a 'valid opinion' based on their join date, how much have you contributed to this game? [Removed by Admin]

Yes, I join in 2013, but have actually contributed to this game. Does that make me more important in our virtual verbal dispute?

I contributed valuable feedback in the closed beta that is in the game you play today.
i love poe, but honestly it needs new content for levels 80-90 already.

open beta is a great concept, but players take it as the full game and when they are not satisfied anymore, they will just move on and never look back.

little by little the game will die like that.

after leveling 3 characters above 90, all classes above 80 and my main character to 95, i have to say this was an amazing game.

But the problem is, there just isnt much left to do. This type of game REAAAALLYYYYY needs a very addictive pvp system to survive long term in todays markets. And poe is lacking that really hard right now....

we will see how things go after release.... Im gonna give the game another shot, but if not satisfied im probably gonna stop playing.

Thats just my 2 cents on the subject.

I didn't bash anyone. All I'm saying is perhaps people should spend a little more time with this game before forming such strong conclusions.

Howdy folks, veteran player here. I quit playing PoE ~2 months ago. I have multiple L80 characters, and had been playing quite some time.

However I got sick of losing hours and hours of gametime due to a single death, often caused by the lag/latency issues. I did the math and realized if I got into the 90's, I'd lose days of gameplay time (I can only play evenings).

Even with the recent adjustment, the penalty is far too harsh for anyone who is L85+. Why would I want to play a game where a single death (my fault or not) when I'm not playing hardcore removes hours or days of progressive gameplay? Is this EVE Online?

I have no incentive to return to PoE because of this, no matter the new content that is added. While I understand this game focuses on multiple characters and builds (which I have done), not having the freedom to pursue a build I prefer to "end game" without a massive burden of guaranteed loss just isn't any fun; and that's why I play games - to have fun.

While Chris and his team have done a fantastic job of creating a solid product (which is fun until you hit the higher levels, then it's just stressful), their special catering to the hardcore players (and even defining softcore play by hardcore players, which is ridiculous) is unfortunate and will ultimately result in the loss of a percentage of gamers for a sustained period.

Any game designed where you can (and often do) end up worse off than when you started out due to general gameplay mistakes has a fundamental flaw. PoE has this flaw, and it needs to be addressed. Until then, I won't be playing - and I know many others who feel the same way (many of my friends quit due to the penalty, and like me - won't come back because of it).

Chris & team - you guys need to wake up on this issue. Your hardcore gamers are < 15% of your player base. It's foolish to listen to them for defining softcore gameplay rules and penalties.

Many players including myself have offered solid viable alternatives to the current penalty system that would work very well.

If you want PoE to be as successful as it could and retain a high percentage of your softcore base, please address this issue.

Why i don't care why you don't return ?

No one cares... do what ever you want with your life, no one cares what you play, what you do. Grow up.

You do get the irony when you reply with "no one cares", do you? :>
What can never be lent or earned?
Somewhat, that devours everyone and everything:
A tree that rush. A bird that sings. It eat bones and smite the hardest stones.
Masticate every sword. Shatters every shrine. It defeat mighty kings and carry mountains on lightly wings.
What am i?

I hope they fix the game so you will return.

I'm still enjoying this game and just started my 8th toon last weekend but just like you I have issues with a few areas of the game. The problem I see is that even though it's an open beta that we are suppose to give feedback on, the community actively discourages feedback. Their are many who have played this game from the get-go who feel that it doesn't need to change and they have all the unique items and currency they need and feel like their hard work will have been in vain if parts of the game are made more acessable. Unfortunately we see that the 10% of our community that are the no-lifers are also the most verbal and vitrialic of us as well. I hope that GGG can see through this and take feedback from everyone from the casual to the self=proclaimed hardcore.

This game is not perfect folks. Some of you believe that this game performs miracles, delivers babies and can in no way fail.

Here are the small issues I have had in my time with it.

Crafting: Most people I have come in contact with do not craft and just save their stuff to
buy what they want. Crafting should never be left up to chance in games like this.
What if I want to craft cool low level gear while I'm a lvl 5? In this game you
save all your crap up until a high level, attempt to make a 5L or 6L, get pissed
and just go buy it instead. (No-Lifer Excuse:)-- Getting what you want should be
hard, are you actually playing a videogame to have fun. Or (Your a Noob)

Desync: I'm 35, I have PC, 360, and ps3, and have been playing online games since it was
invented and this is my first experience with Desync. In other games we complain
about lag but never anything like in POE. Admit it folks, it's total bullshit.
(No-Lifer Excuse:)-- Their is no possible way to fix it. It would require
technology way beyond human understanding. Or (Your a Noob deal with it)

Unforgiving
Gameplay: So you got to level 57 and realize your character didn't
follow one of the exact proscribed viable builds? Start over and waste your time
right. You hear it all the time in this community that your suppose to screw up
your first few characters and that the devs want it that way. If that is the case
then you should get unlimited respecs so that you can do it right. I get attached
to my characters and nothing bothers me more than realizing I just wasted tons of
hours for nothing. I like many others have had to learn the hard way and I can
now build a good character. But I think this is bad game design. With all the
illusion of diversity that the enormous skill tree provides, we all funnel down
into the same shit eventually. IE: sporker, cold crit, discharger.
(No-Lifer Excuse:) This game is hardcore. I did it you just suck. It's too weed
out the casual players. Did I mention this game is hardcore. and also (your a
NOOOB!)

Biggest No-Lifer Excuse of all: It's an open beta more content is comming.

Not sure if you noticed the last patch notes but they said it was the last major update before release. I'm pretty sure that the game we are playing now is the game that the general public will see. Final product ends at current act 3. Their may be more Acts and content down the road that we will probably have to purchase.

I have other minor issues but you get the point. Nobody is allowed to have an opinion or make constructive comments about how this game could improve because of the small percent who believe this game is Jesus Christ incarnate. It almost seems like their are many in the community that are actively trying to drive people away so that they can feel special. It would benefit the game as a whole much more if the devs are able to get as many people to like their game as possible. This means catering to the self-proclaimed hardcore, the true hardcore, and the casual.

This game may be your whole life and be very serious to you, but others may be playing 10 games at once. Games are all about haveing fun and at the end of the day if their are features in this game that are driving people to quit, which I have read in many posts over the past few months. I hope that they can be fixed so that everyone can enjoy the game and not just the 10% of 250lb no-lifers with a calculator in 1 hand and a vintage twinky in the other.

I'm not quitting yet becuase I'm still haveing fun on the game, but I also hope the devs can fix some of the serious issues that are being brought up by all the people who are leaving.

I apologize for my typing and grammer in advance, English was always my worst subject (Graphic Artist)

No Lifer comment: Blasephemy! your a NOOOOOOOOOOOOB!!!!
