Plea to devs to address the sexism

There is always going to be discrimination against genders as long as female and male exist. The only way to remove discrimination would be to remove the concept of sex's, which is never going to happen

Um, no. I've written a few articles on this and I can tell you this is a load of horse-shit. I'm going to be very blunt about this.

Not long after the Declaration of Independence was signed in the United States, a small feminist movement started due to the inconsistency of the wording of the DoI and the actual practice of it. Women were excluded from a lot of things that men were seemingly claiming birthrights to. The movement spread far into the late 20th Century until we arrive at the current time.
Back in the day, feminism was an actual movement with real goals. Fighting for equal rights such as the right to pursue education, right to vote, and right to work were all real problems that impacted women across the United States.

Now, in modern day, there's no real disparity. Modern Feminism (hereby referred to as Neo-Feminism) has no real purpose of movement. Honestly, all you hear is "cisgender," "priviledge," and "patriarchy" from all women who claim to be feminists. If you ask them what their goals are, it's a bunch of nonsensical garbage that doesn't extend very far outside the bounds of personal responsibility.


tl;dr modern feminism has no purpose. stop misusing the term and grow thicker skin. if the UI in PoE disturbs you, you have bigger problems to worry about in the real world.

What if hypothetically there was someone who felt offended by the color green (for whatever reason) are we to just remove all skins and zones with the color green in them? Perhaps even take it to the extreme and have the game only run in black-white so nobody gets offended by any of the colors in this game... but black/white that would be outright racist!

These are not even petty issues, these people are offended by literally anything, it doesn't even matter they will always find a reason to hate something and subsequently make convoluted and pointless arguments to defend their own hatred.

I don't want this shit to infect gaming, games are art, they are fiction, even my 13 year old brother understands that. Whatever happened to artistic freedom? Now, people are getting offended by shit that doesn't even matter, "oh look this artist drew a depiction of a female slave, he must obviously support 'da patriarchy' and is a woman-hater.

Or maybe he is just a freaking artist. See there are petty issues that Feminists often whine about to no end, but this is worse, this is actually a non-issue and I find it frustrating and aggravating that feminism manages to always find a way to complain about irrelevant shit that simply doesn't matter.

As if all of this was part of some grand conspiracy to oppress women, right a game where some of the most powerful bosses and mobs are female is actually just trying to oppress and offend women.

I don't think for a second that the world is more offensive to women than men, the only difference is that women choose to be offended more often than men.

Hell, look at all the men being tortured and killed in this game, it's very disproportionate, but nobody is complaining about that because we aren't fucking retarded, we understand this is a game and fiction, this game isn't politically correct and it freaking shouldn't be. Wraeclast isn't all rainbows and children's laughter.

Just read the reddit thread again, the person complaining in that thread called GGG "assholes", yes actually "assholes". That's how invasive feminism is, "I'm offended... you think that's a petty issue?... Well fuck you, you asshole, I SAID I WANT IT SO GIVE IT TO ME NOW!"

Well there is a lot of sexism in mane communities, and there is work there to do.

There are definitely a lot of feminists that fight for ridiculous matters.

However, there is still a lot to do nowadays.
The biggest example I have is the internet community ( especially about video games ), and this thread shows really good examples of it.

Is it? What is the objective standard by which you could possibly distinguish between people who are legitimately offended and people who are just overreacting? Given that I disagree with the assertion that this is a legitimate concern you cannot possibly argue that it is objectively true. Unless you are implying that I'm simply too blind to see the truth, in which case the burden of proof is still on you. You have to demonstrate, not just assert, that this is an important issue that has an impact on our society, if you cannot do that you are simply wasting everyone's time.

If someone said, "I am personally offended by the colour green, so I'd like an option to change green to a different colour", I would think that is useful feedback for GGG.
I personally like the colour green, and wouldn't use an option to change it if such an option existed. I also imagine GGG won't implement such an option. But, I still think it's good for them to be able to hear feedback from people who would like it.

The same goes for sexism. Some people don't want to see sexist depictions of women adorning their health and mana globes. This is personal preference for them. Whatever the justification, or morality, or whatever of the choice, there are some people whose experience of the game would improve if they had the option to remove the sexy slave statues; and now GGG know this and can use it to inform their decisions.

PS: What's funny is that a lot of people actually are red-green colourblind, and the option to change it to a different colour would massively improve their gameplay experience (gem socketing, etc...); as evidenced by the number of threads requesting such a change.
Well, it's not funny for those people, but it is funny that you thought you were coming up with a ridiculous complaint but actually came up with a genuine one.

Yeah, and then GGG would spend more time catering to political correctness rather than actually developing the game

They don't have to implement the ideas, or even agree with them. But if they know more about what their player-base wants, then they can make better decisions.

And they already know that, which is why there isn't anything going to be done about the UI artwork as its a complaint from some overly sensitive guy who belongs to a clear minority
