Plea to devs to address the sexism

The comparison has nothing relevant here.
A color is a basic element of any visual design ( White is a color ), you can't just "remove one color".
And the question about a color without any other related fact to it is purely subjective, whereas in the OP's case, it is perfectly normal to at least wonder about the subject, because there is a valid point ( even though it's not that much of a big deal, at least to me ).

No, this is still false. Once again you fail to grasp the most basic concept of CONTEXT. It's the same problem that's brought up whenever a feminist/sexist argument arises - The 'pro' argument almost never has any relevant context.

When you can name one right that men are available to that women are entirely alienated from, you can claim feminism has a cause and a reason to exist. Until then, I'll casually label it as a bunch of bored housewives with nothing productive to do with their free time.
In regards to the internet community, I'm not sure if you're aware of this but it's pretty Male Dominant. Are you blaming men for not being able to 100% relate to women? If that's the case, guilty as charged. Just as guilty as women are for not being able to 100% relate to men. The video game industry is also pretty male dominated, however, just like Anita Sarkeesian so casually glanced over, there are still prominent female figures in the video game industry.

So, really, that's what basis to your argument? That products developed by men for a male demographic are wrong for not catering to women?

As I said, the starting point of this thread is really not a big deal, but it is not really difficult to understand that it can make some women feel unconfortable, and as a GUI element, it's natural for this user to ask GGG about it.
I don't see any sexism in Path of Exile's content, I consider the naked health/mana bars statues as borderline maybe, the reaction of many people on this thread are the ridiculous thing.

I've seen cases oh really strong harassment toward some women in video games communities ( I'm speaking of a case even punishible by law here ).
And then the guy at the end said something like "It's our community, we like being like this, now fuck off, leave or deal with us, you can't change us " .... ( it was real misogyny here )



And we can see that there are many many ridiculous reaction to this thread that definitely polute this community, and sexism is present ( not really in the game content ).

And even with what you said, I think you'll agree with me if I say something like :

It's not because a big part of the video game community is sexist ( or even misogyn ), that we should just say : "we are like that because that's the way the community works, deal with it or leave".

right ?

They didn't lie, its just at a bottom of their priority list. Which probably means its never going to happen

Looking at the history of the posts of those people in the threads: it appears to me that the people in question spend a rather large amount of time looking at sexism problems in games and whining about it. Yes, whining, because they seem to do it about essentially every game they discuss.

I don't see the problem with people like that not in PoE. In fact, the game might be better off without them.


If you think a game you would feel guilty about playing would not be a fun game then this means even if they change it you would still feel guilty about it as long as other people kept using the interface. This means that you would only be happy if they removed it entirely, which is the unreasonable part and why I would NOT like your kind around here.

I'm sorry, but depictions like this are so far removed from almost everything this game is about that it doesn't almost matter at all. They could be showing blatant porn on the screen and it would make pretty much 0 difference once you are like 10 minutes into the game because that's not what you pay attention to.

Also, the depictions are clearly meant to indicate sort of "Guardian Angel" type of characters - one is your life and the other is your mana. They're not "characters" but part of your "soul". And I would like to point out that you do not actually see any more nudity in it than you would see on a beach.. and these actually look like statues ON TOP of that.

tl;dr My issue is that if you're given an inch you'll take the whole mile. And I hate seeing this happen to games that keep compromising their original ideas on things that aren't even important while more important changes then go on the back burner.

That's silly, why would you ask someone, you don't even know, to move when you could simply take a few steps back? That seems unecessarily complicated and blatantly ignores the fact that the other person in this scenario has absolutely no obligation to move anyway.

Likewise GGG has zero obligation to subjugate themselves to the demands of a very tiny minority.

This is just not how the world works.

Considering all the things GGG is doing, whether I agree with them or not, changing the graphics on the health/mana meters for a very small minority of players hardly even makes the "to-do list".

Well in my country smoking is forbidden in public places.
But really, someone smoking in your direction right next to you, you may have many reason not wanting to move ( rain / friends / sun / crowd etc ... ) and he's te one disturbing ( yes, smoking is a disturbance. So since asking is simple and easy, yes there could be many reason to do so.

This is a basis of living in society and of what liberty is.

That's not the point of the analogy, the point of the analogy is that you have the option to step back, by saying that you do not have that option you are making a different (and false) analogy. Under these circumstances it would no longer be a valid analogy given that you always have the option to simply not play the game (which would in fact be analogous to taking a step back).

Nobody is forcing you to play this game and just because there are some things about this game you PERSONALLY do not like does in no way give you the right to demand these things be changed, especially not immediately.

And it doesn't make GGG sexist assholes for not changing some things that you and a small minority of feminists find inconvenient or offensive. You are not the centre of the world, the world doesn't revolve around you and your desires. Tough shit, I know.
