Mulit-box/multi-load loot exploit
Because it's fun. It's how some people prefer to play the game and it's what makes them tick. I for one certainly think I would find it interesting to give it a go.
Also, the leveling should in theory be faster if it is indeed configured correctly. It's evident that leveling in groups is quicker, and with mass AoE builds it could lead to very quick exp. The down side is of course that all 6 of your characters would need to be almost identical, and the gear you find is of course not going to end up all being the same. I still think it'd be very fun to try and make work. I also think this whole "Multi-Loading" thing sounds like a complete waste of time and effort. Последняя редакция: Pegglea#1593. multi loading is, atm, allowed.
With how Chris reacted with the poe helper app, I would very well expect multi boxing to be against their rules. Build of the week #9 - Breaking your face with style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_EcQDOUN9Y

" Anything that would be considered "automated" is what GGG devs are against. Whether it be automating recipe combination finding, or automating the ability to control multiple characters at once. If you're multi-loaded and manually manipulating all of these characters yourself, then it's fine. The automation part is the key, no bots, no 3rd party apps. Also, I wouldn't count out that they couldn't track this. Chris and Jonathan(The Lead Programmer) know what they're doing. Based on some of the numbers and analysis that's been thrown out they track (everything). Trending is how it'd find this myself. These aren't guys that just got out of some ITT Technical Institute and started working an internship at a game studio. Последняя редакция: Elynole#2906. Время: 22 дек. 2012 г., 03:00:33

" What about keybinds that are 1:1 (each key press results in 1 key registered by the game) but activate different things in each client? |

" Would you be doing this through a 3rd party application? |

I'm not in the slightest bit doubting Chris and the rest of the teams capability, my only argument would be if huge games such as World of Warcraft, and hundreds of others allow for the use of ISBoxer and similar tools due to the undetectable nature in my personal opinion.
I see what you mean about the 3rd party tool replicating the keystroke, and I 100% appreciate what your saying and I would respect that if GGG were to say no to ISBoxer and anything of that nature then I would simply not use it. It just perplexes me as to why these tools have never really been banned on any other game I've heard of, not that I am questioning the decision of GGG. EDIT: The key stroke replication is still manually controlling a character in my opinion. Bare in mind the chances of this going wrong, and that these 3rd party tools do not inject or aid you in the game in any way. Последняя редакция: Pegglea#1593. Время: 22 дек. 2012 г., 04:02:29

Multiboxing is not banned in MMOs because, before even getting into the technical issues of trying to ban it, 1)it increases player investment in the game (monetarily and/or mentally via perception of sunk time/effort), 2)most games aren't directly competitive or are only competitive in very limited ways making any advantage from multiboxing meaningless, and 3)in competitive settings multiboxing is almost always on the whole less effective.
There are multiboxers in games like WoW who run groups or even whole raids worth of clients at once, and while they have a decided advantage when stumbling upon random people in the world, or when farming for stuff, they are never as effective as coordinated independent players in the competitive settings that actually matter. Same thing in Eve, which is as cutt-throat as MMOs come, there are people with elaborate multi-boxing set-ups who have a few advantages but die to properly coordinated gangs of independent players all the same. In the context of POE, there is no direct competition beyond consequence-free and entirely optional pvp. Someone else having more stuff than you does not affect you in any way, nor is multiboxing the only way in which other people can gain significantly more stuff than you. Multiboxing is at worst a victimless "crime". |

I totally agree with @ up.
The only slight thing you forgot to outline is the leader boards, but there is NO way that a multi-boxer would ever top them in the first place, and I suspect multi-boxing in PvP would be more than useless. |

" Just like insider trading and a ponzy scam is 'victimless'? Multi-boxing may not do as much harm as an item dupe hack; but it will have a noticeable effect on the economy and races. IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client

" We are over thinking the complexity of this exploit. A level 10 with high end gear with stacked IIQ and IIR would be able to safely clear +2 monster level instances with the group buff. XP gain would limit this but that is why you would work with 6 identical builds. When one out levels switch. Still don't know how to stop it...Maybe increase the group monster buff? automatically port characters that are idle? Only activate increase IIQ when 2 or more players are close?
