Mulit-box/multi-load loot exploit
" The affect on races would be minimal to say the least. There's no way the characters would be able to stay geared throughout the race defeating the object in the first place. The economy statement is also invalid as you have to bare in mind each character requires gearing. It's no different to 6x players working together and building the exact same characters. |

How did a level 10 with high end gear with stacked MF become possible in a race again?

" This was my thinking when it came to races and why multi-boxing would be totally useless: - At the lower levels there's no way you'd be able to build any big AoE builds and of course your access to gear would be extremely limited. - In Turbo races this whole thing would be impossible. The co-ordination required would simply not be possible and would defiantly lead to deaths. - It would obviously have to be a group race, and there is NO WAY a set of multi-boxed characters could run the game better than a group with set roles and such (I.E. Tanky Marauder, Spark Witch, ect.) |

I'm a bit noob so let me get this straight: you get bonuses from other chars in the zone even when they are far away?

- Companies have officially allowed multi-box software for like 10 years.
- It does not remotely negatively effect other people. - Anything you can do with muli-boxing can be done with separate players better. - There is no reason for GGG to put a second of their time dealing with this non issue. - Anyone who imagines its an issue is simply being ignorant. - Its getting very old to see people whining about something they don't understand every time a new online game comes out. |

So all bonuses should work only on nearby party members - problem solved? :P

If multi-boxing (or multi-loading, which I'm going to consider as practically equal for the sake of simplicity) is completely benign, then why is botting almost universally vilified? A bot's role is to artificially extend the range of a human controlled character in gathering loot, experience, whatever, by foregoing the limitations, such as time, placed on the human component. Compare this to artifically inflating the role/impact of a single character by simultaneously controlling or infusing additional characters into the game without an actual unique human controller behind each character. In both cases, one human is squeezing more out of his/her space of game time through artificial means, outside of the traditional one human-one character-one instance gameplay scenario, alone or in a group.
Not only that, I would argue a multi-boxer is clearly benefiting more from their method of artificial extension by simultaneously running up to 5 additional characters with increased item quantity per character, a Free-For-All loot environment, AND free account/character creation. All of those characteristics are catalysts for promoting and benefiting the multi-boxer. While a single-bot is just filling the traditional role of the single player while the bot master is asleep or away, or in other cases, as a separate entity still within the confines of traditional/typical play. (Of course, a particularly heinous situation would arise with the implementation of a multi-box+bot hybrid, where a human has no direct control but reaps the benefits of both botting and multi-boxing. Enormous bot "farms" would also be an issue, but I'm comparing the impacts between likely more common scenarios, e.g., Joe Schmo with one bot or who bots his main in off times vs. a multi-box with at least one more character, possibly 5.) Ultimately, I'll take the guy/gal automating his/her character while they're getting a little beauty sleep, over the person manifesting as 6 people at one time, any day. Especially if my concern is the health and equality of an economy or competitive situation (such as races) balanced around one person playing one character at one time, either alone or in a group of unique characters controlled by like-minded people, which I assume is the case with PoE (correct me if I'm wrong). Why would a botter only run one?
And not multi load it with bots? Or, in terms of races, bots are far far worse, since the indiviual is playing 24/7. Edit. And no, mutli boxing and multi loading are COMPLETELY different things. Последняя редакция: SL4Y3R#7487. Время: 22 дек. 2012 г., 15:45:56

" It makes a player pay multiplied number of subscrptions a month or multiple game licences. In a free to play game, it could promote botting and/or, if multiple PoE clients put a strain on one's PC, players with above average PCs;) Multiboxing is not perfectly sportsmanlike and quite often sparks a long debate on the probable impact on the game's economy, morals, competetive gameplay, etc. I would, for the sake of simplicity, stick to single-client gameplay.
