I LIKE PASSIVE SKILL RESETS!

You have to be a complete and unbelievable tard to ruin a spec in this game. It has the most forgiving system ever.
Now now Barlion, be nice :) Remember, today's "gamers" are used to everything being premade, prepackaged, predone for them so all they have to do is press a macro and they've killed the endgame boss.

The concept of thinking for yourself and actually creating original builds is a foreign concept to this generation of "gamer" that has been spoon-fed and coddled by the forces of corporate evil; Actiblizz, EA ("The Kiss of Death"). I mean, god forbid should you actually have to spend some time and be creative experimenting with builds and seeing what works and what doesn't - that's half the fun. And please, don't even try to feed me this crap that "oh boo hoo, I have a real life and don't have time to use my brain and think creating something new." I was gaming and getting my Masters in Information Security at the same time and have an "A" average and have a "real life" so this excuse doesn't fly with me. Basically it's laziness.

The Pope quit, a meteor fell on Russia, an
asteroid came close to the earth, there's snow
in Arizona, star wars and star trek have the
same director! Who the hell is playing jumanji?
Yeah, I'm on the phone with Milton Bradley right now. I feel that in the game Monolpoly I should be able to reset my shoe half way through the game and get all new properties and money. It just isn't fair.
I did that too, Udja. But I was walking to Uni, which was 25 miles uphill each way, and it snowed everyday. Plus we had wolves to contend with, which I killed and skinned for warmth and food on my journey - every day.

Is it really so hard to consider that some people might be over-whelmed or confused their first go around? This game is great in so many ways but, for some people, it could be a little overwhelming at first. This isn't laziness or people looking for easy fixes etc... It's sad people (not you exclusively Udja) paint with a broad brush.

If you got your masters you took more than just Information Technologies (securities, specifically). The best way to help someone is to understand them. Going in assuming people are one way or another only limits and chance of getting solutions or, in this case, educating.

Lots of people play games, PoE is no different and GGG isn't dumb. They want everyone to enjoy their game, "As Is." So... hopefully, no resets. That doesn't invalidate anyone who wants them, I get the points and agree with some of them. I don't really want to see them as part of the game, but it's not my call either way.

But it is getting old how people are quick to generalize based on bias. It only shows ignorance, more often than not.
Well ... yes. It is laziness. But i'm also not a gamer. Casual gamer maybe. It is how many people like to play nowadays. And you have to be quiet narrowminded to say your playstyle "is the only way games are meant to be played".

Do you call people out if they don't play football by international WM-rules? Do you call them out if they don't play monopoly exactly as it is described in the rules?

People like choices. In this case they are restricted. So what can they do? 1. Ask if they may change it and 2. play something else. Asking doesn't cost a thing.
One fair point I've seen brought up before;

* The current system discourages exploring new builds.

Being overwhelmed is one thing, and we were all overwhelmed when we first started here. BUT asking for blatent changes/EASY fixes in the game mechanics just to make it easier for YOU and to make it fit to YOUR lifestyle is LAZY. Play another game where it's "off the shelf" (as we say in the IT world), where no thinking is required. Plus, it shouldn't be a shock for you as you were told from the beginning, or should have done your homework, that this is an "old-school, hardcore ARPG." Why do ppl want to order Chinese food in an Italian restaurant I'll never figure out...

Your statement here just reinforces my claim on what I said about RL constraints.

No biased here just observations. What, next thing ppl will ask for is gold in the game? No, that will NEVER happen and the community and I will shoot their asses down for even trying to suggest such a tard idea. It was attempted before on the forum to say we need an economy based on gold and we crucified his ass :) I wasn't born yesterday and can see when ppl are trying to order Chinese in an Italian restaurant...

they have already explained why and how they made it this way and everyone else who loved d2 and knew the reason for it's longevity, agrees with it, sure it sucks when you make a huge fuck up and need to reset a large amount of points, you got the choice to level a new one or spend large amount of currencies to respec.

How it's meant to be and it's how this game will stay alive for a long time to come, so builds cant just be insta copied ect.

you got 25 character slots.

Use 'em.
I play games... shocked, i know.

Absolutely and completely false. you can create and explore as many new builds as you wish, granted that you have enough character spaces. Create something, explore with it, see if it works to your liking and stick with it. If not, destroy it and start over with something else - what's discouraging about that?? It's like a little adventure in making something new.

What?! You think that all creations are perfect the first time around??? ROFLMMFAO!!

You OBVIOUSLY have no training in history, art, science or otherwise, to make that kind of statement. So according to you Thomas Edison probably should have given up the first try at exploring new ways on creating an artificial light source - right?

Let me explain the point further, and why it discourages exploring;

Because of the size of the skill tree and scarcity of reset points, it encourages going for a safe or tested build by others. Because, if you make a mistake and your experiment failed you're left with either a) a wasted character b) make up the costs with Orbs of Regret.

What Thomas Edison has to do with this, I don't know. We're not trying to invent electricity, we're playing a game.

Edit: I suggest you lay off with the assumptions about people.
