I LIKE PASSIVE SKILL RESETS!

You are missing a key point.

This game was made to be played with many chars. With the first one you will go a save route to learn the system, and what the tree does, of course.

If you only want to play this game for 20 hours with one char, then yes, this is discouraging.
Also, in that case, this game isn't for you.

"this game isn't for you" isn't a very compelling argument.

I'm just bringing up the fact that the "other side" of the argument has it's fair point. I'm actually fine with the way skill reset works, and I'm enjoying the heck out of the game.

Edit: I guess I was playing a bit of a devil's advocate. But I'm satisfied with the answer you provided so let's end this argument.

Or Griding games add a Free instant reset or game will die very soon there are very little hardcore gamers like kripp if devs. planning to hold game only for them then this game is dead allready.
WOW has lot of people because it is for every one from easy mode to hard core.

I and my friends didnt check any build they wanted to test their builds and in the end finished to suck so hard that cruel act 2 was 1 shoot for them to die.
They quit Path of Exile for better times.. sad now im playing solo.

Im farming right now orb of regret I have to res 40 or 45 ponts AND in 2 days of farm I didnt get any orb of regret or wait or 3 days I didnt recive one for very long time acctualy.

Right now game is very boring im playing with bad build i get killed very offten and death pentalty lower my exp bar faster then I lvl so game became shit to me.

Also with no reset is even worst then with it most of community here copied kripp and others hardcore games builds u can see this from trade chat and from public party where all have simmilar builds. So if u dont want to get fuked with own build u copy from others like kripp.

What about me I think I will quit as well No fun farming months orb of regret Ill better go and play pandas or will wait untill Mail ru starts CBT for Archeage .
Sad but this game has one year of succes will be sad if they dont fix what they have now so that they get and keep more devoted players because most of people I know allready left the game I think I will do the same .

Game is popular now because there are alot of casuals who are trying the game when they will get to highter lvl where I get killed easy with 7k def and 75 % resist they will quit so because of that there is no purpose to keep playing because lvl players 100 will be so little and because of that pvp will be with long queque

I know there are people who loves game challange for them this is a way to show off theyir skills but for most is just a game to have fun and if u dont make some changes to improve game experience this game is dead I sow how lot of games died and I dotn want to see this heppen to POE but I ca keep farming orb of regrets .......

I must say... this is the most stupid post I have ever read in this thread...

Man some guys play this game since Alpha, others since Closed Beta, some people pay 1.000 u$s to support this game (Diamond Supporters), if this game dies it dont gonna be because of a "free instant reset system" this is just silly, if this game die is gonna die because of people coming here waiting to be Open Beta and cry because of his own faults :S...

Such a "professional" and "hardcore" player couldn't even survive Wraeclast on hardcore mode. I guess he's "hardcore" in WoW and D3 but put him in a truly challenging game like this one and it's all talk - he dies like everyone else.

Um GGG, you have a nice game BUT

1) It's too dark and gritty - I want brighter and prettier colours

2) Um this concept of having like 20 mobs come out of nowhere and attack me is like stupid - I think 1 or 2 is fine and should drop loot as if there were 20 mobs present

3) GGG I'm not liking this idea where I have to find teleport scrolls - y u no make it like d3 where they GIVE YOU ONE on your hotbar???

4) WHERE'S THE GOLD?? How am I going to buy shit in this game without gold???
