RNG vs hard work system
" Sorry but he makes a completely legit and logical point. Sorry you just don't see it that way Mr level 65 all-star. |

ok i think people are getting the point of this thread in a wrong way.
-It is ok for RNG to exist (i don´t agree with the point of mirrors of kalandra being a drop that a zombie lvl 1 could give but thats IMO) -Guys if GGG wants to have their RNG then fine its ok to have it, it has being since the begining and they are improving it. -My point here is that doing challenging stuff IS NOT REWARDING you kill an invasion boss that almost costed your life guess what Blue item Piñata. you kill atziri and guess what ... you get a chaos dmg flask that worth 2 chaos (I loved the aproach of giving 100% guaranteed unique drop from atziri stuff like this means many idiots who love RNG are wrong or else atziri would drop 1% of the time a unique like the rest of the bosses.) So the guy at the act 1 normal killing a zombie can still get better drops from him than the guy killing uber atziri... this is IMO wrong I write this because ive played alot to the point that i can tell which uniques are the Ultra rare drop (the ones i haven´t got atleast 3+ times droped in the past) So don´t get your hopes of getting them as drops no matter how much you farm for them. " Here, I answered your question for you. Because it IS fun. We play games for fun. Funny, how something made for enjoyment is something people WANT to do. As for your challenging stuff IS NOT REWARDING idea... you are wrong. The reward isn't the loot that dropped. I mean, come on... if you are strong enough to destroy the ultimate boss, what is left? Destroying the ultimate boss faster? At some point, it becomes just silly to keep doing it for the sake of doing it (which is what you think we are at now). For me, it would be silly to kill a final boss to get my ultimate piece of gear, because there is nothing left to do with it. If I can't trade it to other people, there would be no reason to do it more then once if it was nothing more than a gear check in the first place. If I want a skill game, there are plenty out there. I want a treasure hunt game :) ... with monster killing, and good graphics, and complex skill system. I just want them to stop taking away my treasures (legacy items) I would have more fun knowing I could hunt for x item as long as I want instead of feeling like I need to burn myself out hunting for it before people realize it is OP and it gets removed. I guess I will have to buy a one way ticket to hell with your lives

" Here's the thing... I play different games to satisfy different feelings for any particular day... for example: 1) MOBA (League of Legends) - if I want to feel like extremely quick progression when I can get my character to max level and buy some "end game" gears within 15-20 mins. 2) ARPG (POE/D3) - if I want to feel like getting fairly quick progression in about 1-2 hours I can get a level or get some fun drops/crafting. 3) MMO (take your pick) - if I want to get long term progression be that through some form of long epic quest chain - or instance grinding for a piece of gear/rep - or raiding... whatever avenue I want to take progression is set for a longer term. Some MMOs are violently set against the player's time in game to rewards, however that is acceptable as this is the format that people expect that type of progression to time investments. Right now POE progression from level 65 onwards is set at "holy fuck, you may as well die in a Korean MMO" setting for all progressions - leveling - crafting - drop rates for good-best items. I think that GGG must have lost sight that this is NOT a Korean MMO - at the end of the day this is an ARPG where people like myself want to get a feeling of "fairly quick progression" to any activity we choose to focus on that day - be it leveling, or crafting, or farming some good drops. I don't find POE fun because it doesn't even understand the type of game it is. |

" In a Korean MMO, people don't get to almost max level in 2 weeks :3 Your argument is invalid. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" 252 hours (6 hours a night of sleeping, and 18 hours dedicated to playing daily) - grouping up with others to avoid RNG issues - trading from stream + bro deals - and not even hitting level 98 yet... which would be another 8 days or 144 hours to hit 100. 1) That isn't even remotely healthy - not only morally speaking for taking on bro deals, screwing the game systems through constant grouping up + trading so you always have maps waiting for you. They are team mates 100%. They look out for each other. 2) This is not your average player's game experience - you are speaking to an incredibly crazy 1% of the game's population. If even 1%. Your average player will likely take double if not triple that time since they won't have the benefit of constant grouping, constant bro deal trades, and constantly being able to know for a fact that your team mates will open the next map if you opened one up this time. Put this into perspective. In the 400 (396 hours) of unhealthy - questionable gaming practices - bro deals - all that fun stuff - compared to 2 days 22 hours for me /played to hit max level in some MMOs. I know I can do some of them in 50 hours - this is hardly even my best. So I could easily enjoy 8 max level characters in an MMO - in the time it took them to nearly hit level 98 on ONE character in POE. Последняя редакция: Isbox1#3280. Время: 24 мая 2014 г., 13:06:49

" That's a pretty stupid comparison, MMOs just start at max level for a lot of people... to experience the whole content, you also need to invest several hundreds of hours in most MMOs, and thousands of hours in Korean ones. In PoE you don't even need one hundred hours (Atziri was down like 4 days into the race lol, and this is in a hardcore environment). Btw grouping up and trading isn't screwing the game systems, it's core mechanics of the game lol. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
