Idea for the FFA loot system
But I would have to ask for things all the time, since I wouldn't know what's on their screen. Than we would have to stop playing to drop items and trade. It's time consuming.
Further, and I'm not trying to be disingenuous, but I find it comical that many anti-FFA people bring up exalts. How many of these have been taken from you? Even divines and GCPs rarely drop often enough for it to be a problem. And, yes, I have had an exalted taken from me. So what? It's 6 GCP. What's that like 3 hours of currency? In all honesty, by partying and getting the IIQ bonus, it far far outweighs losing anything. Especially something that you probably wouldn't have gotten if you weren't in a party since you would have far less IIQ. Also, if a map drops, and its instanced loot, and the rules were first map goes to portal opener. You would never know who got first map and kept it. With FFA, you could at least not party with that person. With instanced, he could be breaking that rule every map you play and you would be none the wiser. |

" Then don't play on it " None since I decided to not play public games after trying them out. Your not concerned about losing GCP's, Divines, Exalts but your super concerned about rare swords? What are the odds of missing out on a mega awesome rare sword that your buddy left on the ground. Furthermore why is your buddy leaving rares on the ground? I'm sure GGG would make a feature where he could click on the sword to immediately make it public. Wouldn't take much time or effort. " Its worth it to people who don't want to compete for loot. But if you do....then don't play it. " The whole point of instanced systems is that you don't need to make house rules. Your loot is your loot. If you want to be bud and give the map to the map leader then you have that option. I personally would not care if my friend took a map. I have the same chances to get one as him and we obviously wouldn't only be rolling only my maps. Standard Forever Последняя редакция: iamstryker#5952. Время: 21 окт. 2012 г., 21:49:30

But you wouldn't be playing with just your friend. You would be playing in a public party no? That's one of the main discussion points.
And yes, the odds of missing out on a rare nice item are probably greater than finding an exalt. Further, I do not pick up and id every single rare. Only ones I'm interested in or have a chance of selling quickly. I do not for example pick up every staff I find and id it. Leave quite a few items laying on the ground. |

I really don't mind what may drop for my teammates whether its public or private. This is because I have the same fair shot at good loot regardless of how good my internet is, how fast I am at clicking, or how much I am focusing on what drops at any given time.
If I am really interested in getting rare swords then I would simply ask for rare swords that drop and offer other rares in return. If they don't want to do that then thats their call. I am not currently sure if I would run a lot of public game maps or not. I am guessing that I would occasionally and I would not mind if my partner got a map and I did not. RNG is RNG. I'm loving the entitlement in this thread. A FFA system is just that, free for all. Just like the style of the game, its supposed to be gritty and harsh.
"Ninja Looters" are always going to be around, and the only true way to stop it is to add basically care bear style drop systems. I understand that people feel that that awesome drop should have been theirs, and that they feel that they didn't have time to get it. If your in a team thats that disorganized anyways, maybe next time take the time to run over and pick it up if its that important to you. Let the monsters kill the looters that are leeching off you. Or just leave and form your own party. "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right!" Henry Ford

"Yes, so gritty and harsh that the inhabitants of the various camps have set up handy noticeboards to make it easier to help each other out in their adventures. If that "every man for themself" kind of theme was really supposed to be reflected in gameplay, there wouldn't be a party system, just cut-throat all over. |

" I'm not following your entitlement comment. People who don't like FFA loot want their loot to be seperated from everyone elses and don't care what others get. Thats entitlement? I could argue that FFAers feel entitled to absolutely everything that drops. " Another L33T player using the word "carebear", please get over yourself. " Well ya if your name is on the item and you went after it as fast as you could I don't see why you should be penalilized. Maybe you don't want to play PVP and just want to be somewhat social. " Incredible suggestions here. In order to play a public game with people I don't know I have to join and start organizing everyone? Oh I see your saying that I should run over and pick up the items? Silly me I thought if I stared at it long enough it would just appear in my inventory. You really think that trying to let the monsters kill the ninja looters is a serious suggestion to this issue? No you don't sound like you get it at all. Which is fine because looting options would fix everything and then you could play what you wanted.[/quote] Standard Forever Последняя редакция: iamstryker#5952. Время: 22 окт. 2012 г., 03:03:01

I trust in GGG. Almost as much as i distrust actibliz at this point.
That being said, along with GGG's announcments about the game being created for hardcore gamers, maybe FFA system is ok. I cant say that i love it,and thats because i have a crappy PC,where i dont even see the timer on the loot. I think the timer needs +3 secs minimum,in order to compensate for the lag across countries ;d |
