Largely true, though even increased flat damage will still help with the increases in boss difficulty. Hopefully it's at least a 20-40% increase in chain length. Other possibilities are an additional chain or even increased range on the initial cast...but we'll know in a few hours!

Hallelujah!! They listened! This will be great for clearspeed. Also, it has received a "visual improvement", which we all know is what the skill needed most.

Also, new enhanced support gems will be significant:
Awakened Lightning Penetration Support (guaranteed improvement!)
Awakened Spell Echo Support (guaranteed improvement!)
Awakened Unleash Support (possibly more useful than the original, especially with new 40% buff to Arc's chain length)

Finally, I know Enki is planning drop LW for Leap Slam in 3.9, but even so, does anyone know what the hell the implications of this patch note are?

Lightning Warp
If you now cast multiple Lighting Warps rapidly, you will travel between all of them as they trigger the warp. The timing for each subsequent warp is based on the distance from the previous warp.

Is that an improvement or a kick in the balls to LW?

What is the benefit of playing an Arc caster over say Arc miner where you can stack and front load damage?

Well, frontloading is only decent is certain scenarios. Same with totems vs. selfcast. Also, you lose activation speed and dmg (totem/mine dmg reduction + missing support skill gem). Plus elementalist with heralds and stuff explodes/penetrates resistances.

I think arc miner is better though, but it plays like .....
