Why do you insist on using redit instead of your site

Oh hi Mark!

Just came here to say hi Mark!

Here's to Mark! and to not being able to nest enough quotes.
The lack of specific mechanic information IN game is nothing new. That has always been the case with this game, and was the case with the game that arguably was the catalyst that gave birth to this game (Diablo 2... there was basically ZERO mechanical explanation in that game. In fact, there was even LESS hand-holding or explanation in that game).
U MAD?

We post a lot here as well. Last time someone actually bothered to look into it and count posts, it was close, but there were more dev posts happening here on the forums than on reddit, despite many people's insistence to the contrary. Dev posts on reddit are much more noticeable, though, because they tend to get a lot of upvotes. This makes people see a much higher percentage of dev posts made on reddit compared to dev posts made here.

I post more here than on reddit, but people notice and react to my posts on reddit more (except for the ones who stalk my post history - hi guys!). Some of the perceived imbalance is just that - perceived. I've seen posts here complaining about things being posted on reddit instead of the forums, when the reddit post in question was actually someone linking to a post on the forums.

In addition, for small bits of information that aren't worth making a news post for, but are useful to get out there to the comminity at large, it's more beneficial for the community as a whole for that information to be on reddit than posted in a thread here, because more people will find it there. If I answer a question here, the poster and anyone else who finds the thread will see it. If I answer a question on reddit, regardless of actual importance it gets upvoted to the point lots of people will see it.

Many of us read reddit in what little spare time we have, and it's not anyone's business to tell us not to take advantage of that platform to communicate something if we see an opportunity to do so while we're there. If I see a simple question while browsing reddit I can helpfully answer, I'm going to throw off a quick response there rather than opening up the forums and trying to see if anyone here has asked the same thing since last time I read the appropriate subforum.

And not all dev communication on the forums is publicly visible - I answer a lot of PMs as well.

Hello Mark, thank you for the ample explanation. Your reasons for using Reddit and the forum section alternatively are well worded, but couldn't you find a way to at least mirror the questions and anwsers given on Reddit in real time on this section too (or even in a dedicated section)?

I kindly ask this as Reddit mechanic is an double edged sword, and the community that lurks here around the forum, and not there, sometimes feels neglected, as it would always seem that you are better of asking something there and get an answer in a timely manner, while here, you are under the impression that you'll have to pray to RNGesus to obtain an reply from the devs...

If it's not in any way feasible, just say so, and please just continue to respond at your best pace using what method you feel appropriate...

Keep up the good work and find some time to better balance your effort between introducing new content and improving the old...

Kind regards from a faithful supporter! ;-)
PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"...

Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days...
Some good points have been brought up on both sides of this issue (along with an amble amount of troll stuff) but Nothing I have read has answered my question as to WHY game changing information is leaked/posted to reddit long before it makes its way here?
my beef isn't how often you post in either forum but what you post.

Stuff you post in reddit is upto weeks later posted on the forums, sometimes not at all.

Stuff like the DX11 client which was posted about on reddit almost a year ago kept quite for months before hearing anything official here.

Even stuff about connection issues some people have are posted about on reddit and unanswered on the tech forums
