TRADE is such a detriment to POE 2 being fun

The main issue I have with OP is that his "fun" seems to be linked at how others peoples play their game even if it doesn't effect his gaming experience at all. It isn't a MMORPG. Or a PvP Games. SSF is completely viable. But sure thing you will not be fully geared in one week. People are too impatient.

Personally I don't do trade for this reason. You're fully geared way too quick, you don't experience your little power spike as you collect your own gear or the trill to find a Unique that could change your build. I'm fine playing month to reach my own dream gear. Like the old days.

But as far I'm concerned I don't mind at all others people trading for their gear. They play the way they want and if it's fun for them, it doesn't affect me.

Same principle with people complaining that their class/build is "weak" & "bad" when they see OP Broken Build others can do with others class. Everyting is weak & bad if you start comparing to the top most popular build. The worst here is that it's early access and need a lot of balance change. So now people complain about how bad their build compared to OP build & OP build abuser complain when a balance patch fix the situation. :P

But trade existing forced the drops to be balanced around it which means it really does affect everyone's experience. I really think Last Epoch had some incredible ideas trying to appease both traders and SSF types, as flawed as that game is in other ways.
"i want people to be forced into ssf like i enjoy"
The game is balanced too much around trade. You should be able to get good items by actually playing and crafting... but exalts are way too rare to the point where its a newb trap to use them for their intended purpose. They are way more valuable/useful for trading.

It's completely backwards.

Trading will always beat SSF in term of gearing. And personally, what are your expectation of drop balanced around SSF ? Being to be fully gear in how many hour of playing ? Currently the game is 2 week old. For me people who are able to be already fully gear is really odd. So yeah, it's not that this game is balanced around SSF or not. Peoples just want everything, too fast. Then use the trading system if you really enjoy it, don't ruin SSF players experience. :P
I played POE during its beta for a couple hundred hours, then checked in every year or so to dink around. I never made it to the new end systems that were implemented post launch.

I was ignorant of the importance of trade, and the game anecdotally seems balanced around this feature. I like making my own build, working with the drops I find in the world and what I can crafts.

I kept getting road blocked at bosses, without feeling like a vaible means to improve my power other than farming the same map; Something I didn't want to do. Partyng helped to some degree, but wiped on one with three warriors despite boosting my resistances and spending my resources to get the best gear within my means, minus trading.

Now that I realized I could overcome these obstacles by hitting the trade market, I have no will to continue. I don't enjoy trading. At all. I don't want to feel forced to do something I don't enjoy.

This balance is unlikely to change, so I am bummed. Would try SSF, but the thought of slogging through the campaign again repulses me. I also like to group from time to time.
If its balanced around trade then its time for an ingame method instead of having to go externally and praying someone responds.
I didnt even read the post and i dont even really care wth he said, but NO, you lont like trade play SSF, you do not decide how i have fun, i play these games because i like the economy, i like to be part of it and interact with it, be it selling, buying or even flipping, SSF for me is a solo game, i dont like solo games and i wouldnt play that type of game, so get the hell out of the tarde league and join SSF and stop trying to dictate how people play.

The game desperately needs a trade house. It is 2024.

I think GGG has wildly underestimated how sophisticated that AI (bots) have become. If an AI Old lady can tie up scammers on the phone for hours imagine what they can do with the current trade system.

Because of frequent checkpoint system and boss checkpoint system in campaign I think you can have a good time without trade. Better time even, as leaving the game to engage in trade really breaks immersion. Feels like 'cheating'.

For later trials/higher maps tiers, without trade it is far too punishing, you need better items because at that point it is simply a POB game of pumping a combination of DPS+EHP to keep up with monster HP/dmg numbers.

If a game requires trade, it's broken. It's inherently unfun and will alienate a huge swath of players who want to play the game and not sit in a trade window.

There is potential for far bigger profits from a larger audience, than relying on nickel and diming the small group of die hards who obsess over trade.

Then go play SSF or gtfo and find a new game to play, you have choices, but looks like your choice would be to ruin the fun and dismiss people who like the trade and the economy, arpgs were always like this, it´s not my fault that you suck at bartering or dont/cant learn how to value stuff.
