XP LOSS - I actually have a good suggestion

This makes no sense on so many levels. Level loss starts at maps. If it is such a great design they should've left it in the campaign. They didn't, because it SUCKS.
So they know it sucks and know players would hate it and give bad reviews, so they put it into the endgame only, omit it from casual players, but made an intentional decision to implement a suck mechanic for their hardcore players? That's what you think?

Never heard GGG claims the game is designed for a level 90 character. Sounds like something you pulled out of thin air and declared as fact just to win an argument.
Jonathan said something to the effect in a podcast once, that most players are not practically meant to reach the level cap. You can get level 83 enemies in maps. If you're not within 3 levels of enemies, you're getting XP gain penalty. If you're not within 6 levels of enemies, you're getting massive XP gain penalty, which coincides with level 90. People call it a soft cap, because that's the line when leveling becomes really slow, but also because it is up to you to define what your soft cap is. For some it's 93, for others 96. Even if they remove the death penalty, reaching 100 is so far away, most if not all people in this thread would never reach it anyway.

People are angry because your X hours of farming gets literally deleted the moment you die. That is not fun game design. That's it, its that simple.
You are not even pausing for one second to think about it. Your character is already overleveled for the endgame content by the time you lose hours of XP. It's extra power for your character. You lost nothing. You can only gain. In other games you cannot gain anything because the content is designed for the level cap.

Well that's a bad design for an RPG game. I expect to reach lvl100 with enough farming, not have to pay people 10 divs so they can carry me while I afk with 800x600 windowed mode resoultion lmao

It's bad design and its completely undefendable, outdated and archaic aswell.

Imagine making a game with content, but you say "oh players aren't supposed to see the last 10%". Then why is it there? Why is the cap not 90 then. And just give people 10 more skill points from endgame bosses or something I dunno.

The most obvious,easy and simple solution is delete exp loss. Because its Bad with a capital B.

Yeeeah that too lmfao, every person that dies at lvl90+ loses potentially hours, or weeks of mapping depending on how long they play every day. Some people just value their time and want games to also value and respect it. Not delete hours upon hours for no good reason like that exp bar going down.
I have another idea : why not create a new mode without xp loss? so there would be the choice, like softcore and hardcore.

Softcore = no xp loss
Midcore = xp loss
harcore = hardcore

I think I have something here

I'd be fine with that, or just a checkmark for exp loss you click when creating a softcore char then they don't have to split the league in 3. Or just a setting in the options menu. Any of those would be fine as solutions.

That's a horrible design in a seasonal ARPG game with such a long campaign and I guarantee I and many others would hit 100 and put the time in if not for the exp loss combine with the horribly slow exp gain. The game is just flat out not balanced enough yet to keep it.

I quit after lvl 92 in 0.1 because it was just not fun losing hours of grinding from a single death. The current patch is even worse with the loot nerfs, makes it even more of a slog.

They have too many systems working against the lvl 90 player at once: bad crafting, bad loot, exp death penalty, slow exp gain, bad trade system. I'm not putting hundreds of hours in to gain 10 more levels when the rewards are so low

I'd even be fine with a clown cosmetic. Put a clown suit on my character that's only visible to other players and even put a clown emoji next to my name in chat. Then I can have a fun game while the non casuals get their bragging rights

+1000

Don't care if my character rides around on a unicycle while wearing a clown suit in towns while telling jokes, as long as I can disable exp loss.
