Gearing is fun when its meaningful. Your meaning of fun, is of your own definition. No XP loss. No penalties. You want to not build your char, and you're ok dying. What part do you not understand here? You're creating your own definition of fun. My point with hardcore is to tell you that its possible to play without dying, but you want to die. You also do not want to be penalized for it.

How about jumping off buildings and not being penalized for it. We should not have death or any sort of penalty Life is designed wrong. But life is precious and meaningful because of these penalties. Speaking of which, you're playing hardcore in life already btw.

For me XP loss on death is even more hated than n9 loot in the game. I dont play HC in any ARPG because Im old. Every hour I spend gaming is closer to the end of my real life.

A dev literally taking that away and spittung on my time is just unacceptable and it really is the #1 reason for me uninstalling it. I look at it as a poison in my life.

Why not start from level 1 then?

Why put HC mechanics in Softcore. I play SC for a reason. Im a care bare and like power trip ARPGs. Great way to blow off steam in my extra hours. I dont want tge ARPG to blow steam at me lol.

Yes I am a casual...can totally hang with dying and learning bosses. But the XP loss thing when levelling is so egregiously slow is unreal. Ive said it time and time that for me a couple deaths is like SLAM...there went a WEEK of my gaming time. Who are you pleasing with tbe XP loss thing in SOFTCORE?

If 100th level guy is meant to be a stamp of avhievment I really dont see that as such a big deal when its way more impressive to see a HC 100th level char.

Heck with XP req to get to 100 I would NEVER make it wirh NO XP loss so it is like TRIPLE WHAMMY

Dude, what are we talking about here? I am really asking myself, if you have lost touch with reality.
Yes, in a fanatsy game, I am expecting to be able to just jump off the freaking building!
And I understand the idea off hc. Am doing this since 1996 now. What is the problem for you to not loose the xp?
Or even simpler, why dont you play hc, if you like the idea of punishment?

Okay. Make the default option what it's now, call it normalcore, and put the baby mode softcore under it, so the player has to actively select the choice when making a character.
I am older than you, im pretty sure, and ive seen people older than me still able to strive in this game.

If you want to play an easier game, why not do so? They made LE, and many people have already left. Because it's actually quite boring being too easy.

The point is not about hardcore, stop missing this point. It's about knowing how to survive. Knowing how to gear. Gearing so that you die much less. There is satisfaction to it once you get there. Here I am offering and willing to help you guys not die and people still refuse it.

very good point. 10x more loot, no penalties. 10x movement speed.

let them have their own mode.

Sure, we all like a challenge. But I'm tired of wasting time & farming maps for an hour, just to die randomly to a stupid ground effect that I do not even see on my screen and my progress to be reset again with 10%....


I'm tired, I'm bored, I don't have the drive to level up anymore...
I'm tired of wasting one hour to farm EXP, then die to random things that I don't even see and loose 10%...
It's not a challenge, it's not fun. IT'S A STUPID MECHANIC THAT DOESN'T BRING CHALLENGE, ONLY BRINGS ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO WASTE TIME AND GET FRUSTRATED.

P.S: I'm running with full lightning,fire and cold resistances. My chaos resistance is at 60%


Armour is at 30% , Evasion 50% and Block is 31%
Yet i still die to random things from the ground that freeze,stuns, or oneshots me...


They are stubborn about the XP penalty until the moment GGG acknowledges that there will be no profits from PoE2

Eventually, they will either eliminate it or reduce its severity. There is no logical business rationale for this concept.

Today's reality is brutal: a game for the masses leads to profits, while a game for the minority results in bankruptcy.

Someone did, you just can't be bothered reading anything I say. You want to only see things in your own perspective. You refuse to get better, you decline build assistance. But im the one with issues, yea?

The game obviously isn't going to change to your liking in this regard. I can assure you XP penalty won't be removed for obvious reasons. Might as well play something else. Why insist on playing something not fun.

Finished the game. Nothing to beat left. That is why I am reporting. Report is summed up with, no fun after campaign. Xp loss on death alone is a good reason to quit. Delusional to think something is hard about putting a working build together. It is fun. Thats all.
