I LIKE PASSIVE SKILL RESETS!
Yeah, I'm gonna have to say no.
A lot of people seem to be confusing this game with MMOs where you play one character and just respec if you want to try a different build. This isn't that kind of game. What have you become when even nightmares fear you?

OP: Please just go away or stop asking for respecs. This constant nagging about respecs is really getting tedious at this point.

You are completely missing the point.
It is the experience you will be losing by being able to make one character and then never again have to make another. Its quite silly to even be discussing this over and over. Each time you fail, you learn. Maybe mechanics, maybe a dangerous mob, maybe a bad spec. But you do learn. Its a journey to get better and to better learn the game. Its a real sense of accomplishment when you do succeed, because you feel like you overcame adversity to achieve something. All I can say is give it a try, you will be rewarded and may find it difficult to go back to those other games. if not, well, then this game may not be for you Good Luck on finding the true gamer inside you (the one who doesn't want his hand held through his games) |

" Ha ha! Good luck with that. You will get tarred, feathered, insulted, sworn at, accused of whining (despite your constructive post), accused of trying to kill the game, and generally abused anyway. Welcome to the PoE community, a right friendly bunch.... Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

" You know I read this, and it's a good read and it would make me want to play this game....then I realised that almost everything above could equally have been typed to argue FOR full respecs. " Except that the effect no respec is having is to make people scared of making a serious mistake. Net result....they are copying "pro" builds religiously. We are, ironically, getting LESS build variation as a result. This is what happens when you cannot experiment with your build, or rather you can but the price of a failed experiment is extremely costly. People just copy one that is proven to work and safe. " Question, why do I see you arguing in favor of easy mode in all the threads of this type? Would anybody like some... POUNDCAKE?

" It's not nice to speak for other people. You are also part of this community while you're here. @OP: There is already a respec system in the game. Changing bits and pieces of a build is desired and good, as characters are designed to be built up organically. The "endgame swap to a completely different build and playstyle" is not wanted, and is what multiple character slots are for. The game is experimentation, not something that happens after you're done experimenting and learning. Making respec any easier than it is now only serves to reduce the actual gameplay. |

" Why do you see a respec option as easy mode? I see it as quite the reverse. I think you will find what I always argue for is player CHOICE, whatever the issue. Choice keeps more players. More players gets more content and good stuff added to the game. That's my bottom line, nothing more. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? horrible suggestion heard it countless times, if there would EVER be full skill tree resets i would quit, devs wanted some permanency in game,by the way if everyone could unlimitedly test each build there would be no point to create new characters, people would play way less and get bored quicker.

As always, I vote for a no on skill resets. The respec points that are already in this game are more than enough to fix any mistakes one might make. It's actually quite a brilliant way to implement skill resets. Works wonderfully!
