I agree, builds that get a large bonus from a couple of auras that bring them on-par with other builds but can't afford the cost now will suffer from this change. Ideally, they can sustain the cost with minor investment, but sometimes that option isn't available to core build paths. We're working on granting these builds more low cost mana investment. If there are specific 50% auras that you're considering mandatory, please let me know, as we can introduce lower cost alternatives or give builds ways to easily compensate for the loss.

I don't know how reflect works in the beta since I have not played that far, but in live, Grace is absolutely mandatory for rangers with high-tier (350+ dps) crit bows (and attacks other than Tornado Shot), in order to boost evasion high enough with Ondar's Guile, in combination wtih low accuracy, to not one-shot to reflect. With the changes to Ondar's Guile it becomes even more of a mandatory aura.

I've always felt that defensive/support auras that give a build defensive functionality should be lower cost than offensive auras. In this case the ones we have left at high values are Grace/Determination. But it wasn't a big deal because we could use Reduced Mana. But now that's gone and the option we have is either offense or defense. And it doesn't work... because if I take Grace I still need to spec into evasion nodes to have enough to not die to reflect. I can't get enough evasion off just the tree to get high enough numbers. So I'm basically just losing damage.

I don't feel 35% or 40% would be unreasonable for either of these auras. Currently they sit at 42.6% reservation with Reduced Mana.

It's worth noting that I think the quote the OP may be misinterpreting is that many of our changes are getting less testing than they usually would have.

Usually there is no way something like this aura change or the Eldritch Battery change could be dropped in the game so rapidly as we have no way to see exactly how far the ripples spread, but with weeks of testing from a large variety of Beta players we can see whether the new changes have the desired effect, and that the downsides of the changes aren't too extreme. Honestly, I was very worried about the Eldritch Battery change, and wasn't entirely sure we'd want to do it as it straight-up disables some existing characters (the aura change is much less damaging, in this regard), but the results from players actually using it and building for it have been surprisingly positive. It's not perfect, not as powerful as it used to be (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), but it lets us introduce things to the game we never could have before, which will have long-term benefits for the game.

Many extreme changes are only possible during this beta phase, and we don't want to miss out on our chance to improve the game on a fundamental level with experimental features that could prove destructive on the live realm.

I logged in from my phone for this, so i will be short.

First off, you are already proving yourselves better than every other game company that i have tried to point fingers directly to. You get points there. I was afraid ggg had already lost most of their honesty.

Now, be frank here. Did you consider what a middle finger changes like this are to the people in permanent leagues? You know, those people that dont have the time to restart every time? It is still a big part of the playerbase. Yes, i know you normally balance for the temp leagues, but this is different. Do you even care that you are making the game unplayable for us? Not just changing little things, but downright impossible to play since tons of our items are useless?
Love the games. PoE1 way more so than PoE2, but still enjoying both.

Hate the company. The scummy, lying, fake and shitty facade, the excuses, the failures, and most of all, the "Vision".

Keep both of those in mind when reading my posts.
"It's not final guys don't complain because it might get changed"

"Well it's too late to complain now it's already in why didn't you complain during beta?

Its a change thats being implemented in the BETA, not the LIVE REALM and it is not permanent. We can't know for certain if it will even stay that way. Your points are not valid until it become a permanent part of the game.

Both your posts are incredibly offensive and fallacious.

1. It is a free to play game, so i should not try to give suggestions for improvement? Why is ggg asking then?

2. The feedback from the beta does not take perm leagues into account. Existing items are not affected. If i was in the beta, i would think the change is fine probably. If i wait for my items and currency to be ruined and then complain, i have still lost them. Now i might save them.

Please think before you type.

From someone who expects this to be locked and to go on probation. Screw freedom of speech. :)

This is incredibly off topic but "freedom of speech" only means that the government is unable to censor your speech allowing you to freely criticize them. Since GGG is not part of the government (afaik) then they're able to censor you any way they see fit. GGG seems a bit more lax in regards to this type of thing anyways, but on a lot of other games I'm sure this post would be gone in no time.

Maybe a suggestion ( this is feedback and suggestions ) for GGG. Expand on your ninja nerfs and Ninja buffs. If you don't communicate changes any more then the community can't analyze them and find the glaring holes before testing them. Seems like the player base sees the small pictures ( their builds only ) and can instantly tell if a change is going to screw or buff their particular favorite build. Then we players test them and prove ourseves right.

It would be kind of morbidly fun to login and wonder if your build would work or not for that gaming session. It feels like this is the road we're going down except with the ability to see what's being changed and pissing the community off. I truly believe you'd be better off just keeping us in the dark.

I am being offensive? You are the one who wrote, "You're not meant to be a balancer. Pick another job for yourself". You have zero basis for your accusations.

You're quoting Butter0311 not Rory...might want to edit that.

That would be worse.

There are plenty in the community who don't take changes to the game as personal assaults on their value as a human being and instead look at the changes and give logic-based objective feedback as to what they think the changes will do to the entirety of the game, not just their own builds.

It's those people who GGG is giving the most weight to, not the random "I hate everything because something changed!" people.

Sometimes not even the full scope of their build. Even if ele attackers end up a buff short they got a significant bonus in damage scaling of attack skills, their multiplier is scaled now instead of gaining inc physical damage per level.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
