In other words, there was no problem with EB.

There was a problem with fire prolif.

I really wonder why ggg is unable to see this. I mean everyone knows that prolif is 90% of the problem, everyone but ggg.

Theres a 5L DD build in uber down thread costs like 6-7ex that clear out faster than to be nerfed 300ex mojo builds. I'm not saying its op because I think some skill is needed but yeah prolif is powerful

Especially considering the golden balance rule: "if you make a single target effect AoE you must give it some kind of penalty", and proliferation had none.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

What people fail to realize is that having a penalty on prolif (damage that is) just means you want the initial hit to be much higher, forcing yet another build to be better as crit instead of just "chance to ignite" or non-crit.

What's so odd about that? It goes for pretty much every skill out there, if poison arrow had anything to gain by critting people would go crit with it.

Truth be told, I don't like the way it was implemented, one less support is already a damage penalty.
If it was me I'd put '30% less burning damage' and '50% reduced ignite/chill/freeze/shock duration'.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Its not whats so odd its that people have QQ'd about crit being OP or just strait up better in almost every case, after this change it really is no different, in order to clear high level maps with flameblast prolif effectively you now need that higher damage threashold and after the removal of echo being used with flameblast you either stack super high castspeed and the rest or you go crit and 2, 3 or 4 stack and use fire pot to mitigate reflect.

Flameblast is among the things on my "todo" list to test in beta, but again want to reiterate that I said this exact issue would occur if a flat % penalty was added to prolif.

Which you most likely won't do because you can't run high level AA anymore and you will kill yourself on reflect sooner or later :)

IIRC they adjusted AA and are adding ways to increase max mana pool (soon) so running a high level AA should still be possible even with the EB change. They also changed reflect in beta to be focused around the rare specifically and the bloodlines mob, so from what I can tell you can still mitigate reflect significantly, but only time and testing will tell. I don't think I will get to test it before the reset, so it will be a while before I can feedback my findings.

Right, reflect on rares most likely won't be as dangerous as it currently is in live version, but bloodline reflect should still be nasty. Crit flameblast does a fuckton of damage even with proliferation damage penalty.

The only things this new patch will likely do:
- Make it 10x harder for new players or casual players to survive endgame when it's ALREADY very hard to survive some endgame maps, since it seems all the skilled being nerfed to nonexistence are the ones used by newer players concentrating more on survival/cheap gear reliance (GMP/LMP, totem, reduced mana, CWDT, etc) as well as making endgame monsters even harder than now. And of course there's no way they can afford 90 regrets for a complete respec and buying a completely new set of gear/gems since their original one completely got wrecked
- Make it 10x easier for those rich people who play 12 hours a day with 300 exalts sitting in their bank, because it seems the only skills buffed are the ones used by more experienced players, and for them to laugh when they'll be the only ones who can afford 90 regrets for a complete respec + a couple dozen exalts for a complete gear/gem change

GG GGG. For a completely f2p game you sure are trying your hardest to make this game as unfriendly to casual players as possible. Not sure what the motive is since nothing in the cash shop is p2w? I mean if this was a p2w game like Tera then it's perfectly normal for devs to make the game as difficult as possible for newcomers to milk cash out of them.

IDK if its fair to say that it will be impossible to survive in endgame maps, before CWDT was added people still survived in endgame maps, plus the addition of divination cards give even more places to farm for items, 9 new bosses in act 4, tons of rebalancing. Really the only playstyle that I think will struggle with endgame is solo casters unless they give some defensive option or nodes in that part of the tree, currently they have pretty much nothing to invest into, aside from pure ES, which I guess can be an option, but those typically struggle as high es gear requires higher level maps, which requires a character that can farm said maps.

I guess the highest investment character for endgame maps, i'm not talking about 100's of ex in gear, im talking regular gearing currently is melee, then ranged, then spellcasters. Seems with the beta changes its spellcasters, melee and ranged, meaning that spell casters will require either another character leveled first or some way to get gear in order to access endgame maps (IMO)

Also you aren't giving GGG and credit for the good things that are happening this patch, only the negatives that you are focused on, I don't think thats quite fair.
