Every single skill in d2 was viable, it's part of what made the game great. If you don't think so, you either never actually played d2 or were awful at it. Part of what made every skill viable was the content being extremely easy - at the end of the day, if PoE was as easy as d2 was there would be endless oceans of tears on the forum and reddit.

Even the animations suck with the new melee channel skill, which will also be the worse out of the 3.

wonder why they decide to create channeled skill for 1h melee, they are the strongest melee class already with crit+shields.
Vigilant strike could have been reworked too, like keep finger on mouse button and player is building damage charges, release and it multiply the dps. Poe Pvp experience

" This is some bullshit right there. Mitigation available to ranged builds is the problem? Are you serious? It's the damage output from range and the resulting clearspeed that makes anything ranged better than melee could ever be. Like, if it was only because of mitigation, any ranged build be a champion, but that isn't the case. In this way, GGG may have designed itself into a corner. De-emphasizing flask-based gameplay might help, but I honestly think it's too late for that. It would also piss off all the players who have become spoiled by the power flasks give, and don't want to give it up. *Most of these arguments are dumb when talking about D2, because immunities made single-element builds incapable of soloing a lot of the content, but for the sake of comparison to PoE let's ignore that fact, shall we? Or just compare PoE to cow levels in D2, where immunities were less of a problem. Wash your hands, Exile!
