That feel when the Chaos Recipe becomes a waste of time
I over simplified it in my previous posts to push a point, but I think build can play a big part in it since doing chaos recipe should add a static amount of time to each map run. The faster you can clear, the more ineffective the chaos recipe would be in theory.
Also, people tend to tunnel vision on the main currency drops and sit on stockpiles of jewellers, chroms, chances, and fusings. These are worth nothing if you are not going to use them. You don't need to maintain a stock of 3000 jewellers if you don't need to 6S something....why not convert to chaos or even exalts? If you're not chancing things why not sell? If you can't or won't run Chayula...why keep the splinters? Look at your stash and ask these kinds of questions. If the stuff you have in your stash does not help you obtain your priority goals then why not tap into that wealth? |

It is a noob trap I can make 20c an hour or more as soon as ppl hit merciless just off arbitrage.
This league I flipped sac pcs at start. Then add in high speed low drag farming you make way more than chaos recipe noob time wasting. I do pick up Yellows at higher maps though. Not because I want regals or it makes money just interested if I can find anything good. 99.9% of the time answer is no. This will all change in SFL OFC Git R Dun! Последняя редакция: Aim_Deep#3474. " trading is more profitable than playing the game. Shocker!!! |

" 20c an hour isn't even that great. I geared this char in less than 2 weeks at the start of the league (including the 6L). That includes working 60hr a week. By flipping you can get nights where you pull down 10ex+ in an evening even at the start of a league. I'm sure there's people who even take it to an extreme. There are calendar plays as well. |

" I guess I should have used a sarcasm disclaimer. My point was that everybody knows flipping/trading is more profitable than actually playing the game so saying "flipping is more profitable than an inefficient form of farming" is kind of redundant. |

" It's not possible, it's a fact. If you found 10 exa in a league by the first two weeks that's not indicative of your luck or RNG or determinant factor of how things will always go. GGG adjusts drop rates all the time, it's a fact. So not only are you a slave to the poor drop rates to begin with, but further manipulation by GGG of those rates based on whatever the hell they feel like doing. If you thought RNG was bullshit before. Anyway, if you're not taking a second to pick up rares to vendor, what else are you doing? I never understood people passing chests and breakables and pretty much 80% of the content because it was "inefficient." A better description is it's wasteful. I've found exas in breakables before, lots of good things actually, same with chests. You don't have to full clear a map and check every nook and cranny, but if you're passing content, you're just wasting your resources. The only time it becomes inefficient to do such things is when you have other things to do that take up your time that are worth more. Like trading, or running events for other players, etc. But if you're just clearing maps, picking shit up, which literally takes a split second because you're there is worth. Deliver pain exquisite

" Congrats, you spent your game time sitting in your hideout inviting people and typing "t4t" all night. All for a bunch of pixels. Now that you're super rich, you can get all the other crap to play the same game and do the same stuff as the rest of us lolololol Deliver pain exquisite

Yeah its crap but was same in d3. Wish they could devise something were we could still trade and greater rewards came from on playing.
20c is at start when I have nothing but just a few chaos and sac pcs entering act 3 merc. I only do that trade a couple days. Then its onto chaos/ex or mortal pcs arbitrage less volume more profits. Point was you can flip anything from wisdom scrolls to mirrors to rares and it's usually better than playing and a fuck ton better than chaos recipe. Git R Dun! Последняя редакция: Aim_Deep#3474. chaos recipe in itself is nice if you stash up amus rings belts unid like a quad tab or 3 regular tabs than go from there , no need to bother with it otherwise late into the game / league.
on avg i do chaos unid for starters then i quit bothering with it since amus rings can roll very nicely and itd be a shame to get 2 chaos for a set when one of em might be multiple chaos / exas. edit: typo Последняя редакция: Kechop#5316. Время: 7 февр. 2017 г., 01:07:58

All this talk about "efficiency" going on lately...
"Don't pick up anything below 6S and fusings! It's inefficent!" "Don't do recipes! It's inefficient!" "These maps are inefficient! Shape your atlas for shaped strands only!" "Vaal spark clears 1.9% faster than meta build xyz!" "Open the next map while going to stash! Saves 3 seconds! Those precious seconds!" I find it weird to put this "waste of time" mindset into a game that it basically a waste of time itself. Just play as you enjoy playing. It's a game after all, and nobody outside cares what you "achieved" in here. I personally enjoy the recipes, I think they are an interesting part of the game. (Doing unid chaos btw, collect useless base item jewelry until I have half a stash tab, then go on picking up boss drops for a couple maps... those few minutes never felt wasted) 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519
