That feel when the Chaos Recipe becomes a waste of time
If everybody stopped doing the Chaos recipe, Chaos value would creep up to the point where everyone would start doing the Chaos recipe, because it would then be valuable enough to warrant the time spent.
Chaos recipe is relevant in a fresh market or when your clear speed is very low. Shifts happen over a long period of time because you have people entering at various stages in the Market, and you will always have some people who swear by the Chaos recipe, even when presented with data showing them that they are wasting time. Creating hypothetical scenarios to excuse your choices has no basis in reality, because what you hypothesize will never happen. Последняя редакция: alg0801#6288. Время: 7 февр. 2017 г., 15:52:43

Setting up the chaos recipe doesn't take very long. I have a tab for each different item slot. Takes almost zero time at all. The most time consuming part is probably doing the recipe itself.

" Almost zero time is not zero, and that is not the only action required to do the chaos recipe. Последняя редакция: alg0801#6288. Время: 7 февр. 2017 г., 16:10:31

" Sorry.. what action does it require to set up a chaos recipe? |

" Evaluating dropped loot throughout the map. Picking up loot that you determine is needed. Identifying Loot. Inventory management in map. Stashing across multiple tabs. Vendoring. Less space in inventory for holding extra maps to run (I carry 10-15) Relying heavily on visual queues for what items must be picked up. When speed clearing, you rely mostly on auditory queues for what drop and minor currency visually pops out. A lot of time minor currency is missed and skipped without too much care. Your mental efforts are therefore primarily focused on clearing packs, and sounds queue you to pause for loot. Meaning, you don't pause your clearing at all unless you receive an audio queue. The minor loot is easier to spot and process because it is limited when not considering most rare drops. Последняя редакция: alg0801#6288. Время: 7 февр. 2017 г., 16:29:05

How exactly is the chaos 2c recipe "a waste of time"? All I have to do is save 9 pieces of gear that dropped anyway, and I get 2 Chaos Orbs. This type of min-maxing is funny. Tell me, if you see $5 on the ground, do you not bend over and pick it up because it's "a waste of time" and beneath your dignity?

" Irrelevant comparison... The reason the unid recipe is crazy has been addressed plenty in this thread already. U MAD?

" 1 - It's easy to figure out what you need to pick up. Unless you're a complete idiot. 2 - Refer to #1 3 - You don't need to identify loot. 4 - Not hard, you end up getting full on what you need very quickly. Rings / ammys will always be your bottleneck. 5 - Not hard if you have the spare tabs. 6 - Takes 5min for almost an exalt worth of chaos, not too bad I'd say 7 - Hold your maps in your stash? Takes 10 seconds to grab a map. 8 - K. You're probably the type of person who complains about RNG and can't afford anything. IF you follow a chaos recipe it really adds up. You can't rely on RNG to drop good items. Последняя редакция: Pythonmsh#4406. Время: 7 февр. 2017 г., 16:32:06

" Doing the chaos recipe is more akin to walking down a sidewalk looking for pennies and being 30 min late to work as an hourly employee. "It's worth it! I made $0.10"....but you lost half an hours pay. You then need to make up those 30 min by working after hours. You then continue looking for pennies on the way home and complain that you don't have enough free time to play POE when you get home. Последняя редакция: alg0801#6288. " See OP. Started 2 weeks prior to that on breach with first breach char. Farmed the items you see there. After today, you can add a Death's Door and 500 ES shield to that list. |
