it was also called "legacy," "breach," and "perandus."

Nope. People still have the choice to not trade. If you don't want auction house, don't use it.

This is blatantly not true. If an AH was implemented (it won't be), GGG would have to balance around it or players using it would be breezing through the game, meaning that players who didn't use it would simply not be able to actually progress in the game.

This is the fact that makes an AH impossible in a game like this, and there is no way you can get around it (and you can forget about account binding... GGG is even more against that).

seriously, have you ever considered doing the most basic analysis for yourself of what you are saying?

if there is a long road and a short road and i decide to drive on the short road instead of the long road, it will make no difference to the length of your journey.

The only reason there is a perceived need for "balance" is because some people who decide they want to take the long road want to make everyone take the long road as well. That's the problem. You don't want to see people "breezing through the game". You want to control how they play by pretending it takes something away from you. But it doesn't.

Drop rates are a GGG design decision. Full stop!!! The myth that GGG "HAS TO" reduce drop rates in response to simplified trading is just another way of saying "if people try taking the short road, we will put in road blocks that affect drivers on both the long road and the short road".

To me it just seems dumb that GGG have so much content and want to keep in place roadblocks that keep people from experiencing that content. They spell it out in their "trade manifesto" that people who use trade facilities are more likely to access atlas content.

Maybe there never will be an auction house. Again, that is a GGG design decision, not an absolute. That is why there is a feedback thread. So that people can give feedback.

You're still stuck in "people have to experience the game the way you dictate they should". The reason people want an auction house is because they want a different experience. You just don't get that.

wow. ...read that again. you clearly "just don't get that" your argument is the EXACT thing you're criticizing.

then you aren't actually bothering to think and analyse for yourself, you're just accepting what others say as "truth", without thinking about what is actually being said.

i'm all for allowing people to play however they want. if people want to grind, that's their choice. but i'm also for people not having to grind if they don't want to.

both can be achieved. the only obstacle is some who choose to grind want to ensure others have to grind as well.
Devs are stuck in to the 90's, game will die before it's brought up to date.

*facepalm*

how do you not understand that you're advocating for the TRADE SYSTEM to be changed to an AH? ie: you keep talking about roads and choices, but you're advocating forcing everyone who wants to trade to use an AH, regardless of their thoughts. further, there's the obvious fact that an AH would have tremendous impact on the economy - regardless of a player's desire.

ie: what you're advocating is doing the EXACT thing you're criticizing.

saying we can't think or analyze only adds irony to the hypocrisy of it all.

you keep on repeating this, but it isn't true.

changing drop rates in response to simplified trading is a DESIGN DECISON by GGG. not an absolute.

Yes, some players would breeze through the content, because that is HOW THEY WOULD CHOOSE TO PLAY. THAT DOESN'T STOP YOU FROM GRINDING.

lol that is the most bizarre response ever!

the existence of an auction house does not force people to use an auction house.

it doesn't mean the functionality of opening a trade window with another player needs to be removed, so all the current, outdated modes of trading can still remain. i've yet to see a game that has implemented an auction house remove the option for players to trade between each other.

to spell it out.

if an auction house was implemented. people would have the following choices:
1. trading via the auction house
2. trading person to person.
3. not trading at all.

without an auction house, the following choices are available:
1. trade person to person
2. not trading at all.

3 choices is more than 2 choices.

i've yet to see any game remove the option of person to person trading, or the option of not trading as a result of having an auction house.
this is delusional.

you expect to keep current trading AND add an in-game AH? that makes even less sense than what you were previously rambling about... so i'm guessing you simply backpedaled here.

also delusional.

this is akin to suggesting i play with no support gems and only white items. while one technically does have that option, it's not a realistic option at all.
