Why I won't be returning to PoE
People, don't comment in QQ/Troll threads or it keeps going on forever. QQers want your attention that is all.

" I can find a bunch of videos of any online game desyncing. Does that somehow mean it happens in them even a fraction as often as here? Anywhere close? No way! And why does 'similar game' matter? Client-server interaction is just that, client-server interaction. The only criteria for a game to match in terms of possible desync is "player does action, server verifies, client updates" with a similar pace of action. But to name two that never had desync issues even CLOSE to PoE - D2 and Conquer. D2 you could only have a set number of players on any given game. Conquer was a true MMO and there were often times HUNDREDS of players on the screen at once fighting mobs or each other and desync was never an issue like it is here. Please also notice I never said it can be completely eliminated - I did however say it could be fixed to where it is the exception rather than the rule - to where a huge portion of the desync we see on PoE could be minimized to a reasonable couple-step rubber band as opposed to the current 'wtf just happened??' rubber banding. The internet, by its very nature, will cause lag sometimes which will cause desync. But when a client and a server are communicating with less than half a second round trip in terms of syncing there should never be the kind of "oh im here one second and then somewhere completely away from anywhere i EVER clicked 5 seconds later". I freely admit that I have not played D3, nor many other recently released online games. But I cannot imagine the client-server interaction has changed so drastically in the past 2 years that suddenly desync is rule rather than the infrequent exception. IGN: Spookayi

" For me, the lag in D3 was so bad that I would get teleported almost two full screens away. Boss fights were nearly impossiburu. A comprehensive, easy on the eyes loot filter:

Hi everyone, I know my opinion does not matter much since I'm not a well known player or big spender. I paid my 10 bucks 1.5 years ago to play closed beta. I really loved the idea of this game, but after playing for a while and reading these forums, I'm really hard pressed on dropping more money on it. Diablo 3 was a massive disappointment, and I just don't like the style of torchlight. I was hoping to make PoE my new home. I came into some money, and, I wanted to drop a fair amount on a project like POE, but I can't justify it with the current trends in the game. It's flipper-friendly, it's difficult to get good things unless you WORK HARD for it (This is a game. I work IRL), and half the time you play you will end up just spamming trade. I just wanted to put my 2 cents in and agree with the OP.

The core issue is lost time. If the 1.0 release has content up to max level and allows for the penalty loss to be recovered in a short (reasonable) period of time, that may address the issue. Where PoE is an evolved and innovative play on ARPGs, the death penalty is simply a poor copy from its predecessors that conflicts with the innovative nature of the game.
It's like putting a cassette player in a modern day Ferrari. The car is beautiful and drives great, but once you're settled in and realize the car has a cassette player, you ask yourself how such a talented group of engineers could make such a stupid mistake. All that and a bag of chips! Последняя редакция: Mooginator#1287. Время: 29 сент. 2013 г., 23:44:02
