Why I won't be returning to PoE

Cassette players are under rated. You can also use them to plug in your mp3 player with one of those funny adapter things.

Yup can plug a CD player in also. Most versatile audio device for a high end sports car really.

Where PoE is an evolved and innovative play on ARPGs, the death penalty is simply a poor copy from its predecessors that conflicts with the innovative nature of the game.

In this modern era of gaming, 'innovation' and 'evolution' is just another way of saying that there are no consequences for failure. An hour of lost time is not a consequence, it's a minor inconvenience.

In case any of you are too young to remember, games used to punish you HARD for failure. And yet, people still enjoyed the fuck right out of them.

I'm happy with PoE's unevolved sense of discipline.

But we're really not supposed to go past that yet anyway. Man, it would actually be easier if they just made the level cap 80 for now, and then increased it after more content is created.

Getting angry at the game because it lets you push on into *additional challenges if you want to* isn't very logical, is it? You've already "beaten" the current game after Merciless Act 3.

I never understand this issue tbh. I play mostly hc/os and recently i made a char on anarchy, and god, dieing is FUN. Compared to losing your character entirely it's hilarious to play a chill mode like anarchy.

And like mentioned before, trying to go over the cap of 85 is at your own risk. But seriously...

No it is not, because the character is forever lost from its apparent league. The league u opted to play in. Even if u don't delete it upon dead, it is still lost from it's league and transferred to a new league.

I was more making a jab at the fact you can then sell your gear and cross realm trade for stuff on HC if it was valuable enough.

Which ruins the whole point of 'hardcore' play.

Most people probably dont do that though so really I was just being a dick.

Well i have never done this, i never did a cross trade since i don't see the point of it, i play all league's. I enjoy the chilling in sc/anarchy and the thrills of playing hc/os.

As for my previous post's, i was merely suggesting to the OP to go play hc/os, have a char die at endgame, and then try sc/anarchy again. Maybe his vision about the xp penalty would change from this experience.

And yes, i was aware you where being a dick.

If i remember correctly, chriss posted somewhere that cross-league trading is on there "to do" list. And that they consider this to be an issue.
